Feasibility of Collecting and Linking Digital Phenotyping, Clinical, and Genetics Data for Mental Health Research: Pilot Observational Study

Feasibility of Collecting and Linking Digital Phenotyping, Clinical, and Genetics Data for Mental Health Research: Pilot Observational Study

Linkage failures were attributed to technical errors: (1) an identifier was not appropriately generated during eligibility; or (2) the eligibility identifier was not recorded due to a bug in the cognitive tasks (ie, if tasks were not completed or timed out by the end of day 3, the identifier was not recorded). After removing 26 duplicates (all from cohort 2), 100 (57.5%) unique participants remained.

Effectiveness of a Person-Centered and Culturally Sensitive Course of Treatment in Arabic-, Turkish-, and Urdu-Speaking Individuals With Type 2 Diabetes (the ACCT2 Study): Protocol for a Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial

This is due to factors such as health behavior, access to health care, and social determinants, as well as low health literacy, cultural norms, and language barriers that hinder access to and comprehension of information and treatment of diabetes [4,9-13]. Other factors include misconceptions about diabetes, inadequate adherence to medication regimens, lifestyle factors, limited social support, and lack of cultural competencies among health care professionals (HCPs) [1,13-16].

Feasibility of Using Resting Heart Rate and Step Counts From Patient-Held Sensors During Clinical Assessment of Medical Emergencies (FUSE): Protocol for Prospective Observational Study in European Hospitals

Feasibility of Using Resting Heart Rate and Step Counts From Patient-Held Sensors During Clinical Assessment of Medical Emergencies (FUSE): Protocol for Prospective Observational Study in European Hospitals

Due to the use of the Flash Mob Research design a formal sample size calculation is not possible. We assume that a number of 40 participating hospitals in Europe screening up to 50 patients each would result in a sample size of at least 2000 patients screened.

Efficiency Improvement of the Clinical Pathway in Cardiac Monitor Insertion and Follow-Up: Retrospective Analysis

Efficiency Improvement of the Clinical Pathway in Cardiac Monitor Insertion and Follow-Up: Retrospective Analysis

In Finland, health services are challenged due to the shortage of trained health care professionals and resources. For example, Finland has fewer cardiologists than the average for the member countries of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC; Finland 50.5 per million people vs ESC countries 85.1 per million people) [7]. Finland also faces a growing need for nurses in Finland [12].

Development of an eHealth Intervention in Pediatric Home Infusion Therapy: Interview Study of Needs and Preferences of Parents and Health Care Professionals

Development of an eHealth Intervention in Pediatric Home Infusion Therapy: Interview Study of Needs and Preferences of Parents and Health Care Professionals

Home infusion therapy for children with acute or long-term illnesses is becoming increasingly common due to its benefits, such as supporting children and their families in maintaining their everyday lives and improving the child’s health outcomes [1]. This therapy can be provided by nurses in hospitals or municipalities, home care agencies, or by nonprofessional caregivers such as parents or guardians.

Technology Readiness Level and Self-Reported Health in Recipients of an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator: Cross-Sectional Study

Technology Readiness Level and Self-Reported Health in Recipients of an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator: Cross-Sectional Study

This may involve providing virtual or even generative artificial intelligence–based services to individuals who are digitally literate and allocating in-person hours to those who require more personal contact due to social exclusion.

Applications of Large Language Models in the Field of Suicide Prevention: Scoping Review

Applications of Large Language Models in the Field of Suicide Prevention: Scoping Review

While open access is critical for facilitating replication and democratizing access to this modern technology, an important consideration is that open-access LLMs trained on generalized datasets might inadvertently perpetuate unwanted biases; for example, BERT has been shown to exhibit stereotypical biases in areas such as gender, profession, race, and religion, with this bias not related to the size of pretraining corpora but likely due to the nature of the training data [92].

Recruiting Young People for Digital Mental Health Research: Lessons From an AI-Driven Adaptive Trial

Recruiting Young People for Digital Mental Health Research: Lessons From an AI-Driven Adaptive Trial

Due to the paucity of research into best practice methods for efficiently recruiting trial samples, in this paper, we present insights from our experiences recruiting young participants for a digital mental health trial that used an artificial intelligence (AI)–driven adaptive trial design. This type of trial design has the potential to minimize time, costs, and the sample size needed to achieve sufficient statistical power [1].

Determinants of Dropping Out of Remote Patient-Reported Outcome–Based Follow-Up Among Patients With Epilepsy: Prospective Cohort Study

Determinants of Dropping Out of Remote Patient-Reported Outcome–Based Follow-Up Among Patients With Epilepsy: Prospective Cohort Study

If the patients were deregistered due to death, this information was shown in the Ambu Flex system. Patients who died during follow-up were excluded from the study. We assessed patient’s health-related self-management using 3 different constructs: health literacy, self-efficacy, and patient activation. Health literacy was measured using part of the multi-dimensional Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) [30].

The Effectiveness of Video Animations as a Tool to Improve Health Information Recall for Patients: Systematic Review

The Effectiveness of Video Animations as a Tool to Improve Health Information Recall for Patients: Systematic Review

Due to the diverse nature, use of measurement instruments, and the heterogeneity of articles in this field, it was not planned to perform a meta-analysis. Therefore, a narrative synthesis approach was planned. Detailed information on the study characteristics, and methodological quality, as well as a summary of the outcome measures and the results, was obtained.
