A Brief Technique to Reduce Flashbacks of Sexual Trauma in an Adolescent: Proof-of-Concept Case Study Using Imagery Interference

A Brief Technique to Reduce Flashbacks of Sexual Trauma in an Adolescent: Proof-of-Concept Case Study Using Imagery Interference

Established interventions for flashbacks and intrusive memories include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) [4]. These powerful treatments aim to treat the full constellation of PTSD symptoms, rather than just flashbacks, but they also have limitations. They require extensive exposure to traumatic materials, including talking in detail about the trauma within CBT approaches.

Comparing Generative Artificial Intelligence and Mental Health Professionals for Clinical Decision-Making With Trauma-Exposed Populations: Vignette-Based Experimental Study

Comparing Generative Artificial Intelligence and Mental Health Professionals for Clinical Decision-Making With Trauma-Exposed Populations: Vignette-Based Experimental Study

Trauma exposure is associated with a range of health-related issues, including physical health problems [1,2] and mental health problems [3,4]. Owing to the potential impact of trauma exposure on individual health and well-being, assessing trauma exposure history is an essential part of mental health assessment [5,6]. Trauma exposure is quite common, with some estimates suggesting that around 90% of individuals experience trauma during their lifetime.

Designing Digital Mental Health Support for Paramedics Exposed to Trauma: Qualitative Study of Lived Experiences and Design Preferences

Designing Digital Mental Health Support for Paramedics Exposed to Trauma: Qualitative Study of Lived Experiences and Design Preferences

The dataset was judged to provide rich, nuanced insights into paramedics’ lived experiences of workplace trauma and preferences for digital support, with recurring patterns and interpretative depth evident across the interviews. This study forms part of a broader program of research exploring trauma exposure and psychological support needs among frontline workers in the United Kingdom.

Effects of Injury Registry Data on Policymaking, Hospitalizations, and Mortality: Systematic Review

Effects of Injury Registry Data on Policymaking, Hospitalizations, and Mortality: Systematic Review

The success of trauma systems has been reported in various localities, with their effectiveness well-established [14,18-20]. Estimates indicate a 15% reduction in the odds of mortality [21,22]. Furthermore, the implementation of trauma registries has been well-documented, and these registries are consistently recognized as essential tools for improving trauma systems and policymaking [13,23].

Revisiting the Semantic Severity of Anxiety and Depression: Computational Linguistic Study of Normalization and Pathologization

Revisiting the Semantic Severity of Anxiety and Depression: Computational Linguistic Study of Normalization and Pathologization

For instance, if the term trauma is applied to a broader range of experiences [12,20], the average intensity of an experience described by the word trauma should be reduced, diluting the meaning of the word. An analysis of 871,340 psychology abstracts confirmed that the semantic severity of trauma has declined since the 1970s [20].

Enhancing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Report Comprehension in Spinal Trauma: Readability Analysis of AI-Generated Explanations for Thoracolumbar Fractures

Enhancing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Report Comprehension in Spinal Trauma: Readability Analysis of AI-Generated Explanations for Thoracolumbar Fractures

However, thus far, no reports have been published on the accuracy and helpfulness of Chat GPT-generated explanations of spinal trauma MRI reports, specifically thoracolumbar fractures, in the emergency department. Therefore, the objective of our study was to evaluate the readability of Chat GPT-generated layperson summaries of radiology reports for 20 patient cases of thoracolumbar fractures.

Investigating Experiences With Scarring Among Transgender and Gender Diverse People: Mixed Methods Study

Investigating Experiences With Scarring Among Transgender and Gender Diverse People: Mixed Methods Study

Internally, scarring may trigger complex feelings of gender dysphoria and trauma; externally, scarring may present an obstacle to identity concealment and render TGD people vulnerable to stigmatization and transphobic hostility. These concerns underscore the need for improvement of scar minimization procedures and standardization of safer and culturally responsive scar care.

Application of the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers Model for Predicting the Abbreviated Injury Scale in Patients with Trauma: Algorithm Development and Validation Study

Application of the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers Model for Predicting the Abbreviated Injury Scale in Patients with Trauma: Algorithm Development and Validation Study

Since 2008, the AIS score or ISS score has been used as a criterion for evaluating trauma centers in various countries and has now developed into a globally recognized trauma scoring system. However, the AIS coding system is a highly refined and complex scoring system that covers injuries to various parts of the human body and scores them based on the severity of the injury.

A Just-in-Time Adaptive Intervention (Shift) to Manage Problem Anger After Trauma: Co-Design and Development Study

A Just-in-Time Adaptive Intervention (Shift) to Manage Problem Anger After Trauma: Co-Design and Development Study

Phase 2 involved co-design workshops with a mixture of experts by experience, and experts by profession, which included digital health experts, trauma researchers, and clinical psychologists to converge on core components of a prototype JITAI, using CBT for anger after trauma principles [21].
