Improving the Engagement of Underrepresented People in Health Research Through Equity-Centered Design Thinking: Qualitative Study and Process Evaluation for the Development of the Grounding Health Research in Design Toolkit

Activities in this workshop included the completion of “A COVID story,” similar to Mad Libs; a fill-in-the-blanks word game; and the creation of a prototype of something that could help with mental health during a pandemic using basic craft supplies and materials. The engagement of project researchers and staff as participants in all activities alongside patient stakeholders was important to the EDT strategy.
