“The DSST is a paper-and-pencil cognitive test presented on a single sheet of paper that requires a subject to match symbols to numbers according to a key located on the top of the page. The subject copies the symbol into spaces below a row of numbers. The number of correct symbols within the allowed time...constitutes the score.” [44]. The WAIS-IV instructions, specifying a 120-second time limit, were used [45].

Perceived effectiveness of mobile apps was another key outcome, assessed using a Likert scale where participants rated the effectiveness of mobile apps in improving patient outcomes, enhancing patient engagement, and streamlining clinical workflows [29]. The effectiveness score was calculated as the mean of these ratings, with higher scores indicating greater perceived effectiveness [29].

Overview of unstructured data processing for a single timestep. CUIs are extracted from clinical notes by c TAKES and assembled into a usable data structure that maps encounter ID to a list of CUIs associated with the timestep. A table of CUI-associated data is created, independent of patient data, containing preferred text, ICD codes, Sap BERT embedding, and cluster information.

The duration of stress exposure is a key determinant of the disease risk attributed to stress. Acute stress is an adaptive response to a challenge and is generally not harmful to health [6]. However, when stress is severe, or experienced continuously or repeatedly, it can lead to psychological and physical illness [5,7]. While the detrimental effects of chronic stress on health are well-recognized, measuring stress burden remains challenging [8].

Nivel-PCD: All insurance claims codes as recorded by the GP are received, however, when a dataset has been requested by the researcher, the codes are filtered by the data processor to include a selection of codes relevant to the study (in agreement with the researchers), on a database zone level.
Contacts
Defined as moments of contact between a GP and a patient. Based on unique dates on which an insurance claim code was recorded by the GP, that is, the maximum number of contacts per patient per day is 1.

By addressing these key aspects of feasibility, this study provides critical insights into the viability of smartphone-based EMA for real-time symptom monitoring and personalized intervention development in adolescent depression. As this is a pilot study with a small sample size, the findings should be viewed as preliminary.

Finally, we share key lessons from the technology deployment process.
As mentioned earlier, a lot of great work has been done, and some researchers have also shared personal narratives and lessons learned. While these lessons learned by other researchers provide valuable insights, they lag in 3 important ways that motivate our work.

PGS is often conducted on a large scale, targeting asymptomatic individuals as part of public health initiatives. As a result, the communication typically emphasizes general risk awareness, with initial results disclosure indicating increased risk rather than confirming a diagnosis.
