Association of the Transmembrane Protease Serine 6 rs855791 Variant and Nongenetic Factors With Iron Deficiency Among Female Medical Students in Yogyakarta: Protocol for a Case-Control Study

Several studies in India, Pakistan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia have reported a significant rate of iron deficiency and anemia among female medical students, ranging from 16% to 63%, especially among those who live in dormitories and have a low or high BMI [24-29]. However, in Indonesia, only 1 study on female medical students with a sufficient socioeconomic background revealed a relatively low anemia prevalence of 13.6% [30].

Improving Access to and Delivery of Maternal Health Care Services to Prevent Postpartum Hemorrhage in Selected States in Nigeria: Human-Centered Design Study

Improving Access to and Delivery of Maternal Health Care Services to Prevent Postpartum Hemorrhage in Selected States in Nigeria: Human-Centered Design Study

Roughly 31% of female deaths in Nigeria are attributed to maternal causes, and in 2018, the country recorded a maternal mortality ratio of 512 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births [9]. Some factors contributing to this sad reality include poor access to essential medicines, including uterotonics for PPH management, and inadequate health care providers [10].

Predicting Transvaginal Surgical Mesh Exposure Outcomes Using an Integrated Dataset of Blood Cytokine Levels and Medical Record Data: Machine Learning Approach

Predicting Transvaginal Surgical Mesh Exposure Outcomes Using an Integrated Dataset of Blood Cytokine Levels and Medical Record Data: Machine Learning Approach

A cohort of 20 healthy, nonpregnant female patients, divided evenly between the 2 categories, was determined necessary for statistical observation of a difference in blood cytokine biomarkers with a 10% chance of error. Briefly, this statistical analysis used a 1-tailed t test based on a priori power analysis, a Cohen d of 1, and a conservative study power of 0.80.
