These findings are consistent with previous reports that exercise interventions have beneficial clinical effects for patients with osteoarthritis in the lower limb [40,41]. The available evidence strongly supports the incorporation of exercise therapy as a fundamental component of nonpharmacological treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee [42].
