A Digital Lifestyle App for Hypertension During Pregnancy: Mixed Methods Intervention Development Study Using the Person-Based Approach

A Digital Lifestyle App for Hypertension During Pregnancy: Mixed Methods Intervention Development Study Using the Person-Based Approach

Supporting women with pregnancies that are complicated by hypertension to adopt healthy behaviors could play an important role in blood pressure control during pregnancy and beyond [1]. However, an understanding of how best to support women with existing, chronic hypertension to manage their blood pressure and improve future cardiovascular health through targeted lifestyle modification during pregnancy is unknown [2,3].

Recovery of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures vs Gait Parameters Obtained by Instrumented Insoles After Tibial and Malleolar Fractures: Prospective Longitudinal Observational Study

Recovery of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures vs Gait Parameters Obtained by Instrumented Insoles After Tibial and Malleolar Fractures: Prospective Longitudinal Observational Study

To answer these questions, the primary hypothesis of this study was that the longitudinal trajectories of the PROMIS scores for Physical Health, Mental Health, and Pain Interference differ from those of gait parameters assessed with instrumented insoles among patients with tibial and malleolar fractures, with sex, age, fracture type, implant type, BMI, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and previous injuries as explanatory variables.

Alert Reduction and Telemonitoring Process Optimization for Improving Efficiency in Remote Patient Monitoring Programs: Framework Development Study

Alert Reduction and Telemonitoring Process Optimization for Improving Efficiency in Remote Patient Monitoring Programs: Framework Development Study

The hypertension program and telemonitoring application (Luscii) [16] used in this study have been available since 2021 and are embedded in a care path for hypertension. The program is developed in line with the latest European Society of Cardiology/European Society of Hypertension guidelines [17]. Measurements are performed using a Bluetooth-connected, validated BP monitor. The Luscii application consists of a smartphone—or tablet application and an web-based healthcare provider dashboard.

Remote Photoplethysmography Technology for Blood Pressure and Hemoglobin Level Assessment in the Preoperative Assessment Setting: Algorithm Development Study

Remote Photoplethysmography Technology for Blood Pressure and Hemoglobin Level Assessment in the Preoperative Assessment Setting: Algorithm Development Study

Preoperative hypertension is associated with increased perioperative risk [7]. Anemia is one of the strongest risk factors for perioperative blood transfusions, which could bring further complications, such as increased length of stay [8]. Automated BP measuring devices are the most commonly used devices for BP measurement [9], while hemoglobin concentration is measured with an invasive blood test.

Evaluation of a Sentinel Hypertension Surveillance System in Mojo, East Shewa Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia: Concurrently Embedded Mixed Design Study

Evaluation of a Sentinel Hypertension Surveillance System in Mojo, East Shewa Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia: Concurrently Embedded Mixed Design Study

Hypertension is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular diseases [1,2]. Approximately 1.28 billion adults aged 30 to 79 years have hypertension worldwide, with low- and middle-income countries bearing two-thirds of the global burden. Alarmingly, 46% of adults with hypertension are unaware of their condition while only 42% received appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Commentary on “Prevalence of Undiagnosed Hypertension Among Adult Displaced Individuals in Baidoa Camps, Somalia (Preprint)”

Commentary on “Prevalence of Undiagnosed Hypertension Among Adult Displaced Individuals in Baidoa Camps, Somalia (Preprint)”

This is a peer-review report submitted for the preprint “Prevalence of Undiagnosed Hypertension Among Adult Displaced Individuals in Baidoa Camps, Somalia.” The preprint did not proceed to publication in JMIRx Med. In these cases, JMIRx-branded journals, acting as overlay journals for preprints, may publish peer-review reports as commentaries. I commend the author for this study [1] on an important topic. However, here are a few comments to help improve the manuscript.

Regarding the burden of hypertension, provide more updated statistics on hypertension, using both global and regional data. Ensure a clear linkage and transition between the two because, as it stands right now, the statistics are scattered throughout the introduction, rendering it redundant. Response: We have included updated global and regional statistics on hypertension and improved the linkage and transition between the two sets of data for better coherence. 5.

A Clinical Study on the Efficacy of Acupuncture Treatment in Essential Hypertension: Protocol for Randomized Controlled Trial

A Clinical Study on the Efficacy of Acupuncture Treatment in Essential Hypertension: Protocol for Randomized Controlled Trial

Hypertension is one of the major risk factors for fatal complications of cardiovascular disease [1-4] and represents a significant public health concern worldwide. Annually, hypertension is responsible for approximately 10.4 million deaths [5]. Therefore, the primary goals of hypertension management are to regulate blood pressure and prevent damage to target organs [6-8].

The Prevalence of Hypertension Among Children and Antihypertensive Use: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

The Prevalence of Hypertension Among Children and Antihypertensive Use: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Hypertension (HT) occurs when the blood pressure (BP) is elevated above the normal range. It is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD), chronic kidney disease, and a major cause of death [1]. Studies have suggested HT in childhood to be associated with essential HT in adulthood [2,3]. However, childhood HT is less commonly studied and reported than adult HT [4] and receives less attention in public health [5].

Prerequisites for Cost-Effective Home Blood Pressure Telemonitoring: Early Health Economic Analysis

Prerequisites for Cost-Effective Home Blood Pressure Telemonitoring: Early Health Economic Analysis

Hypertension remains one of the most important risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) [1]. Despite lifestyle and drug therapy interventions, a significant proportion of patients with hypertension remains inadequately controlled, which is mostly the result of poor medication adherence [2]. Home blood pressure telemonitoring (HBPT) has been proposed to improve adherence [2,3] by allowing patients to measure their blood pressure at home while being remotely monitored by their health care providers.
