Development of an eHealth Mindfulness-Based Music Therapy Intervention for Adults Undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: Qualitative Study

Development of an eHealth Mindfulness-Based Music Therapy Intervention for Adults Undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: Qualitative Study

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) is an effective therapy for various hematologic cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, and myelodysplastic syndrome [3]. Allo-SCT is a multiphase therapy starting with a pretransplant evaluation and finding a compatible donor. This is followed by intensive conditioning (chemotherapy, radiation, or both) to destroy cancer cells, suppress the immune system, and prepare for stem cell engraftment.

Telemedicine With Wearable Technologies in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (TEL-HEMATO Study): Prospective Noninterventional Single-Center Study

Telemedicine With Wearable Technologies in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (TEL-HEMATO Study): Prospective Noninterventional Single-Center Study

For individuals who have undergone hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) or chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, the posttreatment journey often involves continuous monitoring and timely intervention. Patients are susceptible to a myriad of complications (eg, infections, cytokine release syndrome, neurotoxicity, graft-versus-host disease), necessitating vigilant monitoring.

Exploring the Potential of an Eye Tissue Donor Reporting App in Enhancing the Procurement of Corneal Donors: Mixed Methods Observational Study

Exploring the Potential of an Eye Tissue Donor Reporting App in Enhancing the Procurement of Corneal Donors: Mixed Methods Observational Study

The availability of donated tissues plays a crucial role in saving and enhancing the vision of numerous patients through transplantation. However, the demand for tissues consistently surpasses the available supply, leading to longer waiting lists and compromised patient outcomes in various countries, including Poland [1-3].

Patient Engagement With and Perspectives on a Mobile Health Home Spirometry Intervention: Mixed Methods Study

The primary diagnosis resulting in a need for transplantation was classified into 5 categories: restrictive disease, obstructive disease, cystic fibrosis or bronchiectasis, pulmonary hypertension, and other disease. Rural or urban status was assigned at the zip code level using the rural-urban community area codes classification [15]. Area Deprivation Index (ADI) national percentiles, based on a patient’s US census block group location, were used as a proxy measure of socioeconomic status [16].

Additionally, the HCT process is so intensive that patients are required to identify at least one care partner (henceforth, this term will be used interchangeably with unpaid caregiver, eg, spouse, sibling, child, other family member, neighbor, or friend) to provide around-the-clock care for roughly 12 weeks after transplantation [4].

Health System–Level Barriers to Living Donor Kidney Transplantation: Protocol for a Comparative Case Study Analysis

Health System–Level Barriers to Living Donor Kidney Transplantation: Protocol for a Comparative Case Study Analysis

Kidney transplantation, in particular living donor kidney transplant (LDKT), is widely regarded as the best therapeutic option for patients with kidney failure. When compared with patients undergoing dialysis, those who have undergone kidney transplantation experience a 64%-75% lower risk of death by the first year following transplantation [8-13]. LDKT is a surgery that involves a healthy individual donating one kidney to a patient (recipient) with kidney failure.

Acceptability of an mHealth Family Self-management Intervention (myFAMI) for Pediatric Transplantation Families: Qualitative Focus

Acceptability of an mHealth Family Self-management Intervention (myFAMI) for Pediatric Transplantation Families: Qualitative Focus

Successful outcomes of transplantation require effective family self-management [5,6]. The first 30 days following hospital discharge is a critical time for families to self-manage the additional stressors associated with posttransplantation care including managing the child’s medical schedule (laboratory/clinic appointments, medication administration), impact on family life, and worry about transplantation complications [7-10].

The Impact of Transitioning From In-Person to Virtual Heart Transplantation Selection Committee Meetings: Observational Study

The Impact of Transitioning From In-Person to Virtual Heart Transplantation Selection Committee Meetings: Observational Study

Thus, transplantation selection committees are typically large multidisciplinary groups, including physician and nonphysician members, that complete comprehensive patient evaluations to determine transplant listing eligibility [2]. The COVID-19 pandemic transformed clinical and administrative practices in heart transplantation.
