Health Workers’ Perspectives on Mobile Health Care Learning Stickiness: Mixed Methods Study
User stickiness to an app can be considered a key metric for evaluating the relationship between a user and an app [6]. It may influence their decision to adopt or discontinue the use of the app. According to Hsu and Tang [7], the stickiness of a mobile app is its ability to encourage continuous user interaction, which requires that the app maintain users’ interest. Chen et al [8] argue that stickiness is the tendency of users to continue to visit apps or websites.

Information technology investigators have used the term “stickiness” to describe a mobile app’s ability to hold user attention [17], keep consumers returning for regular use, and encourage app stickiness. Carlo and colleagues [11] operationalized stickiness as a quotient derived from the number of monthly active users per normalized total downloads, where a higher number indicates greater stickiness.
