In contrast, a malignant pleural effusion (MPE) is evidence of an advanced stage of malignancy with incurability and a poor prognosis [6].
TPE occurs in approximately 5% of patients with tuberculosis infection. It results from a delayed hypersensitivity reaction to tuberculoproteins present in the pleural space, and hence, microbiological tests on the pleural fluid are generally negative.

Few studies have assessed adherence to topical 5-FU, and LSRs may discourage patients from seeking treatment for future AKs; some patients refuse to use 5-FU a second time, potentially increasing the risk of malignant transformation [5,7]. Moreover, there is limited literature assessing patient experience with 5-FU treatment. Previous studies using interventions, such as educational videos, to improve patient satisfaction have also not been successful [8].

In this systematic review, we evaluated the evidence available in the literature to analyze the feasibility, acceptability, and potential benefits of telemedicine interventions in malignant and nonmalignant hematology and assess the current limitations of utilizing these interventions. Owing to the heterogeneity of the included studies, the methods by which feasibility, accessibility, and clinical outcomes were assessed vary among the studies.
