Such hepatitis cases outnumbered MIS-C cases and lacked the hallmarks of inflammation seen in MIS-C. CAH-C’s form of transient hepatitis is different from already familiar liver injury phenotypes and occasionally witnessed persistent diseases in children with COVID-19. In the current context, cases of severe pediatric hepatitis of unknown origin have affected at least 169 children in nearly 12 countries, with at least 16 children having required liver transplantation [17].
