Decentralized Management of Home Care Services for Seniors: Protocol for a Participatory Action Research

Decentralized Management of Home Care Services for Seniors: Protocol for a Participatory Action Research

To address the present challenges faced by HCS, decentralization could be a particularly promising approach [5,21]. Decentralization implies the delegation of decision-making, power, and responsibilities [21]. The decentralization process involves reconfiguring relations among the national, regional, and local levels to work toward collaborative vertical and horizontal management [22].

Decentralizing Health Care: History and Opportunities of Web3

Decentralizing Health Care: History and Opportunities of Web3

Decentralization—data are stored on decentralized networks of computers rather than controlled by individual entities. User control—it is designed to give end users more control over their own data and web-based interactions. It eliminates the need for intermediaries, enabling secure, peer-to-peer interactions. Data ownership—patients may have full control and ownership of their health data, which could be securely stored and accessed on decentralized networks, improving privacy and interoperability.

Security Engineering of Patient-Centered Health Care Information Systems in Peer-to-Peer Environments: Systematic Review

Security Engineering of Patient-Centered Health Care Information Systems in Peer-to-Peer Environments: Systematic Review

DLT-based PHSs, such as Med Rec, which is under development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology [17], are currently spurring the P2 P and decentralization push in the health care domain. However, DLT is a specialized P2 P technology that does not align well with the needs of the health care sector and the sensitivity of health information.

Blockchain for Increased Trust in Virtual Health Care: Proof-of-Concept Study

Blockchain for Increased Trust in Virtual Health Care: Proof-of-Concept Study

It offers various degrees of decentralization, immutability, and consensus firmly founded in the mathematical principles of modern cryptography. A blockchain can also be described as an immutable ledger that logs data entries in a decentralized manner. In its original form, a blockchain enables entities to interact without a central trusted third party. The blockchain consists of a continuously growing set of data entries bundled together into blocks of data (Figure 1).
