Computerized clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are software programs designed to improve health care delivery [1]. CDSS can be utilized across a range of medical domains such as electronic drug prescription, medical imaging, clinical diagnosis, and clinical management. It has the ability to integrate patient specific information with evidence-based guidelines to suggest the most appropriate next step in management.

The variables will be curated for the identification of CLD-related codes in the computerized medical records of adults registered in the RSC network (Multimedia Appendix 1).
Comparisons will be conducted between population subgroups with different CLD etiologies, sociodemographic characteristics, complications, and comorbidity profiles.
The outcome of the first objective will be the coverage rates of Hep A vaccination among those with CLD.

Antimicrobial prescribing and other study outcomes for those who have been swabbed will be obtained by linking information from the cobas Liat analyzer with data from the patient’s computerized medical record in primary care. We will demonstrate the feasibility of reporting antimicrobial stewardship and severe outcomes postinfection.

Key diagnoses in primary care in England are recorded in computerized medical records (CMRs) using SNOMED CT [17]. This includes COVID-19 test results and vaccination. Over the period of the study, all community COVID-19 test and vaccination data were posted electronically back into patients’ CMRs. We have previously found that 7.81% (58/743) of the practices did not have any LC cases recorded in their CMR systems, and these practices were excluded from the study.

The initial phase involved a repeated cross-sectional retrospective analysis of data extracted from the RCGP RSC database, a surveillance network, which collects data from computerized medical records (CMR) from more than 3.5 million patients and over 300 general practices in England. CMRs are used during consultations to record patient conditions and prescriptions [12,13].
