Survey of the Impact of Decision Support in Preoperative Management of Anemia (i-Anemia): Survey Study

The final survey included 7 short clinical case vignettes containing up to 3 multiple-choice questions each (totaling 12 questions). Rapidly Deteriorating Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy Following Ventricular Shunt Revision for Hydrocephalus: Case Report

We report the case of a patient with worsening DCM following the treatment of coexisting hydrocephalus. A previously independent, self-employed female patient in her early 40s with congenital hydrocephalus presented with a dragging left leg and an abnormal gait for several months. There were no upper limb symptoms. On examination, there was increased tone and brisk reflexes in the lower limbs and a positive Hoffmann sign. Power and sensation were normal.

An Ensemble Learning Approach to Improving Prediction of Case Duration for Spine Surgery: Algorithm Development and Validation

An Ensemble Learning Approach to Improving Prediction of Case Duration for Spine Surgery: Algorithm Development and Validation

Predicted surgical case duration often informs how cases are scheduled and which resources are dedicated to prepare for and staff them [13]. Consequently, improving the accuracy of these predictions is a practical strategy to increase operating room efficiency [14]. Surgeons often estimate case durations when scheduling operative time; durations may also be tied to historical averages or Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, practices that are prone to substantial inaccuracies [15].
