Advancements in digital mental health tools may provide nontraditional treatment options for problem anger [6]. As an emotion, anger is unique because it manifests as primarily externally-focused, in that an external agent often activates anger, such as how other people have behaved in a hurtful, disrespectful, or otherwise anger-triggering way [7]. Accordingly, interventions that increase internal focus are likely to support greater self-awareness to offset focus on anger-provoking events.

In this paper, we attempt to add to the literature describing real-world users of free, publicly available, web-based UDMHIs by describing the users of 3 such UDMHIs hosted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): Path to Better Sleep (PTBS), Anger and Irritability Management Skills (AIMS), and Moving Forward (MF). These 3 UDMHIs are available on the Veteran Training Portal (VTP), a subdomain of the official VA website.
