The most common injuries resulting from an accident are spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries [1]. While the long-term effects are difficult to predict and vary between individuals, the costs of care and recovery span well beyond the initial treatment phase and include long-term care [2,3].

In health care, the question has always been how to define a good experience and identify the elements of that experience that the hospital and its services can contribute. Significant survey-based work has been conducted to isolate the factors that patients believe contribute to a positive experience.
