Estimated dietary intake data from the Eat Well Q8 FFQ were generated automatically by the web-based Eat Well Q8 app, which was described previously by Franco et al [17]. Nutritional composition and portion sizes of the 146 food items were calculated using the Food4 Me food list [18], fifth and sixth editions of The Composition of Foods by Mc Cance and Widdowson [19,20], the Kingdom of Bahrain Food Composition Tables [21], and the National Kuwait Food Composition List [22].

Popular Nutrition-Related Mobile Apps: An Agreement Assessment Against a UK Reference Method
However, My Meal Mate is not considered a “popular” mobile phone app (with fewer than 500,000 installs), as identified by Franco et al [10], and Tap & Track is available only in Apple Inc’s App Store, limiting its use.
Exploring the accuracy of popular apps would ensure that the findings from studies that used these apps are relevant for the commercial market.
