Validation of an Adaptive Assessment of Executive Functions (Adaptive Cognitive Evaluation-Explorer): Longitudinal and Cross-Sectional Analyses of Cognitive Task Performance

Validation of an Adaptive Assessment of Executive Functions (Adaptive Cognitive Evaluation-Explorer): Longitudinal and Cross-Sectional Analyses of Cognitive Task Performance

Most ACE-X tasks adapt through a closed-loop mechanism on a trial-by-trial basis, which modifies a participant’s adaptive response window (subsequent sections present exceptions) by either increasing or decreasing the length of time that a participant has to make a response that is considered “correct and on time.”

Assessing the Impact of a Virtual Reality Cognitive Intervention on Tennis Performance in Junior Tennis Players: Pilot Study

Assessing the Impact of a Virtual Reality Cognitive Intervention on Tennis Performance in Junior Tennis Players: Pilot Study

Such positive effects have been observed in those platforms using closed-loop algorithms, an approach that changes the level of difficulty on a trial-by-trial basis to challenge a given individual appropriately for a given training experience [1,17-19].

Assessing Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis With Digital Tools: Observational Study

Assessing Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis With Digital Tools: Observational Study

SDMT is a widely used measure of selective attention and information processing speed in MS [25,26], which requires the participant to substitute geometric symbols for numbers while scanning a response key. The participants were presented with a page headed by a key that pairs 9 symbols with the single digits 1-9. Rows below showed only symbols, and the task was to write the correct number in the spaces below based on the key row.

Application of an Adaptive, Digital, Game-Based Approach for Cognitive Assessment in Multiple Sclerosis: Observational Study

It is a standardized, internationally validated battery [37] including (1) the SDMT, a widely used measure of attention and information processing speed in MS [29,30]; (2) the California Verbal Learning Test Second Edition, a verbal memory immediate recall test [38]; and (3) the Brief Visuospatial Memory Test Revised, a visual memory immediate recall test [39]. Serial versions of all tests were used to minimize practice effects [40].

Using Mobile Apps to Assess and Treat Depression in Hispanic and Latino Populations: Fully Remote Randomized Clinical Trial

Using Mobile Apps to Assess and Treat Depression in Hispanic and Latino Populations: Fully Remote Randomized Clinical Trial

Participants were automatically notified every 8 hours for 24 hours if they had not completed a survey within 8 hours of its original delivery. A built-in reminder also prompted the participant to check for any surveys on a daily basis in case they missed a new survey notification. An assessment was considered missing if it was not completed within a 24-hour time frame.

Comparing Approaches to Mobile Depression Assessment for Measurement-Based Care: Prospective Study

Comparing Approaches to Mobile Depression Assessment for Measurement-Based Care: Prospective Study

This study, which serves as a proof of concept for the reliability and predictive ability of daily depression symptom measurement, is a secondary analysis of an existing dataset from a large national community-based sample that includes daily depression measures. Data came from a fully remote trial of smartphone-based depression apps in which individuals with a PHQ-9 score of 5 or greater were recruited through a Web-based interface (NCT00540865).

The Use and Effectiveness of Mobile Apps for Depression: Results From a Fully Remote Clinical Trial

The Use and Effectiveness of Mobile Apps for Depression: Results From a Fully Remote Clinical Trial

All potential participants learned about the study through a website explaining study details, which led to a screening protocol using automated software (Survey Gizmo; Widgix, LLC, Boulder, CO, USA) to determine eligibility. Informed consent was conducted through a 2-minute video explaining the study risks and benefits, and the payment structure over the course of the study. In addition to a PDF file of the consent form was provided.
