To address this gap in the literature, Merchant et al [10] conducted a randomized controlled trial (RCT; NCT04011540) investigating how receiving regular summaries of patients’ digital data (referred to as a digital health dashboard: Figure S1 in Multimedia Appendix 1) in psychotherapy impacted patient self-report health-related quality of life, depression or anxiety symptoms, and therapeutic alliance.
