Model-Based Feature Extraction and Classification for Parkinson Disease Screening Using Gait Analysis: Development and Validation Study

Model-Based Feature Extraction and Classification for Parkinson Disease Screening Using Gait Analysis: Development and Validation Study

The Butterworth filter is expressed using equation 1: where y(t) is the filtered signal; x(t) is the input signal; fc is the cutoff frequency; f is the frequency of the signal; and n is the order of the filter. In this study, an order of 4 was used for the Butterworth filters because it provides a smooth yet sufficiently steep roll-off in the transition band. While higher-order filters provide sharper roll-offs, they also require more computational resources.

Detecting Sleep/Wake Rhythm Disruption Related to Cognition in Older Adults With and Without Mild Cognitive Impairment Using the myRhythmWatch Platform: Feasibility and Correlation Study

Detecting Sleep/Wake Rhythm Disruption Related to Cognition in Older Adults With and Without Mild Cognitive Impairment Using the myRhythmWatch Platform: Feasibility and Correlation Study

From the extended-cosine models, we extracted measures of 24-hour robustness (pseudo-F statistic, indicating how well the observed data fits the 24-hour curve); activity onset time (up-mesor, the time which the modeled activity level passes the middle modeled rhythm height prior to the peak); and activity offset time (down-mesor or the time which the modeled activity level passes the middle modeled rhythm height prior to the nadir).

Investigating Measurement Equivalence of Smartphone Sensor–Based Assessments: Remote, Digital, Bring-Your-Own-Device Study

Investigating Measurement Equivalence of Smartphone Sensor–Based Assessments: Remote, Digital, Bring-Your-Own-Device Study

The raw sensor data (touchscreen, accelerometer, and gyroscope data) were encrypted and transferred wirelessly to a secure central database server that is controlled and maintained by the study initiator, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. Subsequently, the raw sensor data were used to compute predefined test features that characterize the participant’s performance on the individual active tests.
