Enhancing the Predictions of Cytomegalovirus Infection in Severe Ulcerative Colitis Using a Deep Learning Ensemble Model: Development and Validation Study

Enhancing the Predictions of Cytomegalovirus Infection in Severe Ulcerative Colitis Using a Deep Learning Ensemble Model: Development and Validation Study

Other viral infections, such as herpes simplex virus, are comparatively rare among patients with UC and do not pose the same level of severe complications and management challenges as CMV reactivation [19-21]. Hence, while it remains imperative to differentiate between CMV and herpes simplex virus infections in patients with UC, accurate diagnosis of CMV infection associated with UC holds heightened clinical significance.

Development and Effect of Prenatal Education Programs Using Virtual Reality for Pregnant Women Hospitalized With Preterm Labor: Experimental Study

Development and Effect of Prenatal Education Programs Using Virtual Reality for Pregnant Women Hospitalized With Preterm Labor: Experimental Study

In a previous study, Park and Sung [42] assessed the effect of music therapy on uterine contraction frequency in pregnant women with preterm labor. Their results showed a decrease in the average frequency of uterine contractions in the experimental group by 0.35 points, from 3.00 before intervention to 2.65 after. In the control group, contraction frequency decreased by 0.33 points, from 2.78 to 2.44.

Mediating Effects of Psychological Independence and Social Support on the Association Between Family Strength and Depression in Young Korean Adults: Cross-Sectional Study

Mediating Effects of Psychological Independence and Social Support on the Association Between Family Strength and Depression in Young Korean Adults: Cross-Sectional Study

Yi et al [31] reported a mean depression score of 15.55 (SD 11.87) in Korean female college students, and Kim and Park [32] reported a mean score of 17.31 (SD 8.29) in Korean college students. As a cutoff score of 13 indicates a risk of clinical depression [29], most studies have found the average depression level in Korean young adults to be relatively high.

Exploring Factors Related to Social Isolation Among Older Adults in the Predementia Stage Using Ecological Momentary Assessments and Actigraphy: Machine Learning Approach

Exploring Factors Related to Social Isolation Among Older Adults in the Predementia Stage Using Ecological Momentary Assessments and Actigraphy: Machine Learning Approach

All participants with SCD answered “yes” to the question, “Do you think your memory has worsened compared to before?” Considering the different characteristics of the Dementia Relief Center and the community service center, tailored recruitment criteria were applied for each setting. Participants recruited from the Dementia Relief Center had no history of MCI or dementia, as reported by a nurse.

Large Language Model–Assisted Surgical Consent Forms in Non-English Language: Content Analysis and Readability Evaluation

Large Language Model–Assisted Surgical Consent Forms in Non-English Language: Content Analysis and Readability Evaluation

Primarily, this study does not directly assess patient comprehension; therefore, the observed readability gains do not necessarily confirm improved patient understanding or better informed decision-making. Second, the use of only one LLM (Chat GPT-4o) without comparison to other models restricts conclusions about the optimal simplification approach.

Perceived Risk and Fashion on the Intention to Adopt Wireless Earbuds in the United States Using a Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling Approach: Empirical Study

Perceived Risk and Fashion on the Intention to Adopt Wireless Earbuds in the United States Using a Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling Approach: Empirical Study

This paper addresses the following research question: Do perceptions of technology, risk, and fashionability affect the user’s intention to purchase wireless earbuds? This study will fill the gap in the literature of a systematic understanding of the impact of perceived risk and fashionability on wearable device purchase and use. The results of our study will also help the development of safer wearable devices. The remainder of the paper is organized as follows.

Strengthening Immunization Data: Protocol for the Evaluation of an Electronic Immunization Register

Strengthening Immunization Data: Protocol for the Evaluation of an Electronic Immunization Register

To do so, we will apply stratified random sampling proportionate to the number of health facilities in each district to identify a sample of health facilities to survey. To reduce selection bias and ensure a geographically representative sample, we will use random sampling proportional to population size, ensuring that health facilities from all districts are included.

The Lived Experiences of Racial and Ethnic Minority Nurses Exposed to Racial Microaggressions in the Hospital Setting: Qualitative Study

The Lived Experiences of Racial and Ethnic Minority Nurses Exposed to Racial Microaggressions in the Hospital Setting: Qualitative Study

I don’t do anything bad – It’s just the way I approach them is just different… More detached. I do what I need to do, and I get out. It’s unfortunate because they don’t get the best care that I can give them because they’re being inappropriate. In addition, the nurses often experienced a sense of “vigilance” or anxiety when approaching conversations due to fear of what the patient would say in regard to their racial or ethnic identity.
