No significant differences were found between the 2 groups, except for a significantly higher percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes in the postimplementation cohort (retrospective baseline: n=14, 6.1% vs postimplementation: n=18, 12.6%; P=.04). Both the mean age (retrospective baseline: mean 46.9, SD 17.4; postimplementation: mean 49.7, SD 17.5; P=.14) and BMI (kg/m2) were similar between groups (retrospective baseline: mean 30.0, SD 8.4; postimplementation: mean 31.3, SD 7.7; P=.14).

We conducted a correlation analysis using the predicted scores obtained from the full multilevel model to assess the correlation between these 2 variables. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test with Lilliefors correction identified that the normal distribution assumption was unmet.

Among the socioeconomic variables, sex stood out, with a higher probability of women belonging to the skeptical group (OR 1.699; 95% CI (1.187-2.433); P=.004). In addition, both the education and income level variables acted in a similar way—the higher the level of education and income, the lower the probability of belonging to the skeptical group, adding also, in the case of educational level, a lower probability of belonging to the hesitant group.
