Pharmaceutical Analysis of Inpatient Prescriptions: Systematic Observation of Hospital Pharmacists’ Practices in the Early User-Centered Design Phase

Pharmaceutical Analysis of Inpatient Prescriptions: Systematic Observation of Hospital Pharmacists’ Practices in the Early User-Centered Design Phase

The pharmacy department is responsible for the entire hospital’s health care product circuit, and the pharmacist’s activity is essential to patient safety and the reduction of health care expenditure [13]. Several studies have demonstrated the value of pharmacist-oriented CDSSs for patient management [10-12]. Of course, in health care, the patient’s well-being is the main concern.

Impact of Tai Chi Therapy on Fatigue and Cognitive Function in Individuals With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Impact of Tai Chi Therapy on Fatigue and Cognitive Function in Individuals With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

However, the impact of Tai Chi on cognitive functions in CFS has not yet been clinically validated, and its efficacy and safety have not been assessed in large-scale randomized controlled trials. Regular Tai Chi practice is beneficial for relieving fatigue and improving cognition in CFS, and it is more effective than general aerobic exercise.

Improving Safety, Efficiency, Cost, and Satisfaction Across a Musculoskeletal Pathway Using the Digital Assessment Routing Tool for Triage: Quality Improvement Study

Improving Safety, Efficiency, Cost, and Satisfaction Across a Musculoskeletal Pathway Using the Digital Assessment Routing Tool for Triage: Quality Improvement Study

“Getting It Right First Time” by stratifying patients to the correct level of intervention at the first point of contact is considered key in ensuring patient safety and improving outcomes of MSK conditions and efficiency across the MSK pathway, with early identification of patients requiring urgent medical review considered a priority [5,6]. For this reason, patient safety was the primary measure for our study.

Online Information About Side Effects and Safety Concerns of Semaglutide: Mixed Methods Study of YouTube Videos

Online Information About Side Effects and Safety Concerns of Semaglutide: Mixed Methods Study of YouTube Videos

The use of semaglutide, particularly the famous Ozempic, by nonsevere overweight individuals might pose safety issues [24]. Off-label drug use is legal and common, though it means a drug is being used for an unapproved indication or population, at an unapproved dosage, or via an unapproved route of administration [24,25]. Off-label users may have a higher safety risk if they obtain semaglutide via online vendors or beauty spas without a proper medical consultation [26].

Extended Reality (XR) in Pediatric Acute and Chronic Pain: Systematic Review and Evidence Gap Map

Extended Reality (XR) in Pediatric Acute and Chronic Pain: Systematic Review and Evidence Gap Map

Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review was to describe the feasibility, safety, and effectiveness of XR for pediatric acute and chronic pain. Moreover, this review collated current research to establish an evidence and gap map for guiding future research efforts. Finally, given the variability in XR study treatment outcomes, this review also assessed the measurement tools that have been used to measure outcomes in XR research.

The Dynamics of Doctor-Patient Communication During Remote Consultations: Qualitative Study Among Norwegian Contract General Practitioners

The Dynamics of Doctor-Patient Communication During Remote Consultations: Qualitative Study Among Norwegian Contract General Practitioners

Although being of beneficial use in relation to clear reasons for contact, their safety hinges on patients’ ability to articulate their complaints. Strategic preservation of continuity of care emerges as crucial in mitigating the identified challenges. A central finding in our study is that the observed changes in communication during remote consultations are not primarily associated with specific reasons for contact.

Consumer Engagement With Risk Information on Prescription Drug Social Media Pages: Findings From In-Depth Interviews

Consumer Engagement With Risk Information on Prescription Drug Social Media Pages: Findings From In-Depth Interviews

Pharmaceutical companies currently present risk information (often referred to as “safety information” in promotion) about the prescription drugs they promote in a variety of ways across social media platforms. For example, companies may use links to provide access to risk information, such as a link to the drug’s external website or a link to a PDF file with the full prescribing and medication guide.

Values of Stakeholders Involved in Applying Surveillance Technology for People With Dementia in Nursing Homes: Scoping Review

Values of Stakeholders Involved in Applying Surveillance Technology for People With Dementia in Nursing Homes: Scoping Review

Staff’s desire to be helpful and respond to the needs of residents also partly overlapped with the value security, which is characterized by striving to assure the safety of loved ones, taking precautions to prevent harm, and being warned in case of threats [45]. From the nursing staff perspective, surveillance technologies were most often applied to enhance the general safety of residents, mitigate the risk of falling, alert staff promptly, and contribute to efficient care [7,22,46].

Identifying Patient-Reported Care Experiences in Free-Text Survey Comments: Topic Modeling Study

Identifying Patient-Reported Care Experiences in Free-Text Survey Comments: Topic Modeling Study

Future studies could evaluate whether these topics could have relevance as part of broader indicators of patient safety. APIES respondents are the parents or caregivers of pediatric patients and reflect the experiences and priorities of both the patient and their family.

Exergame (ExerG)-Based Physical-Cognitive Training for Rehabilitation in Adults With Motor and Balance Impairments: Usability Study

Exergame (ExerG)-Based Physical-Cognitive Training for Rehabilitation in Adults With Motor and Balance Impairments: Usability Study

Key considerations include safety, training goals, individuality, game environment, social interactions, and physical and technical overload for patients, as well as facets like meaningfulness, distractions from the game environment, safety, gamification elements, and the availability and accessibility of the exergame for therapists [13]. Therefore, further investigation into the usability and user experience of exergame functional models in real-world rehabilitation settings is essential.
