This is a peer-review report submitted for the preprint “Prevalence of Undiagnosed Hypertension Among Adult Displaced Individuals in Baidoa Camps, Somalia.” The preprint did not proceed to publication in JMIRx Med. In these cases, JMIRx-branded journals, acting as overlay journals for preprints, may publish peer-review reports as commentaries.
I commend the author for this study [1] on an important topic. However, here are a few comments to help improve the manuscript.

This is the author’s response to a commentary on “Prevalence of Undiagnosed Hypertension Among Adult Displaced Individuals in Baidoa Camps, Somalia.”
I commend the author for this study [2] on an important topic. However, here are a few comments to help improve the manuscript.
1. The title needs some slight changes to improve clarity. For instance, what do you mean by “displaced individuals”? Would you rather state it as “internally displaced persons” or just “adults in Baidoa displacement camps”?

Estimation of the prevalence of MCC throughout all stages of adulthood is a critical reflection of the MCC burden; it is important to examine the prevalence of MCC broadly using regularly updated data sources to inform targeted prevention and management strategies and resource prioritization.

Therefore, we will conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to synthesize the evidence on the current global overall or pooled prevalence of HT, risk factors, anti-HT use, and the anti-HT BP-lowering effect among the general children population.
What is the estimated pooled prevalence for children globally, and by regions (Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania, North and South America)?

To examine the differences between participants included versus excluded from the trial, we computed a t test with unequal variance to compare mean depression severity and a chi-square test to compare prevalence of death- and suicide-related thoughts collected at screening. To characterize participants’ lifetime STB, we computed descriptive statistics (eg, mean and percentage) on C-SSRS variables collected at baseline. To calculate the incidence of STB during the trial, we took several steps.

According to the Guideline for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in China (2020 Edition) [1], the prevalence of diabetes in China has surged from 0.67% in 1980 to 11.2% in 2015-2017 [2,3]. Diabetes management in China faces significant challenges, particularly in rural areas where awareness, treatment, and control rates remain low.

For example, in a national random sample of 65,231 college students drawn from 71 US college campuses, the prevalence of past 2-week depression using PHQ-9 was 57.8% for TGD young adults compared to 28.4% for cisgender young adults [9].

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a chronic cardiovascular condition occurring in 3% of the adult population, the prevalence of which is predicted to more than double over the next 20 years [1]. The increase in AF prevalence may be attributed to better opportunistic screening for silent AF, aging of the population, and an increase in conditions predisposing to AF, such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, and physical inactivity [2].

Another review reported the prevalence of poor vision in children and adolescents as 7.26%, 7.34%, and 2.91% based on uncorrected visual acuity, presenting visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity, respectively, with refractive errors being the most common cause [7].
Compared with other countries, children and adolescents in East Asia reported a higher prevalence of poor vision.
