Validation of Telehealth Outcome Categories for Patient Safety: Systematic Literature Review

Validation of Telehealth Outcome Categories for Patient Safety: Systematic Literature Review

At this stage, in light of the latest research, we decided to add 3 new outcome categories related to clinical outcomes, data protection, and ecological sustainability. The main results of the outcome category building, as used in our review analysis, are presented with references in Multimedia Appendix 1, which contains both key telehealth concepts and the outcome categorization with illustrative examples (on relevant themes in each category) based on previous research.

Digital Contingency Management for Substance Use Disorder Treatment: 12-Month Quasi-Experimental Design

Digital Contingency Management for Substance Use Disorder Treatment: 12-Month Quasi-Experimental Design

Treatment adherence (ie, appointment attendance) and continued substance abstinence are 2 crucial elements that impact the outcome of treatment [6,7]. However, traditional treatment protocols struggle with multiple problems, such as low appointment attendance as well as long-term abstinence and relapse rates [8]. Contingency management (CM) is one of the most research-validated behavioral treatments to increase abstinence and treatment adherence in SUD treatment [9].

The Effectiveness of a Mobile National Remote Emergency System for Malignant Hyperthermia in China: Retrospective Pre-Post Implementation Study

The Effectiveness of a Mobile National Remote Emergency System for Malignant Hyperthermia in China: Retrospective Pre-Post Implementation Study

The primary outcome was the mortality of patients with MH. The use of dantrolene, the dantrolene available time, and the use of hemopurification were considered secondary outcomes. Data analyses were performed using SPSS Statistics (version 27.0; IBM). All continuous variables were initially assessed for normality. In this study, the Shapiro-Wilk test was used for normality due to the small sample size.

Factors Related to Pain and Disability Outcomes After an Internet-Delivered or Physiotherapist-Led Exercise Program for Individuals With Chronic Whiplash Symptoms: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Study

Factors Related to Pain and Disability Outcomes After an Internet-Delivered or Physiotherapist-Led Exercise Program for Individuals With Chronic Whiplash Symptoms: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Study

In studies where interventions included acceptance and commitment therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, psychological factors had a mediating or predictive effect on pain and/or disability outcome for individuals with chronic WAD [12,13].

Mono-Professional Simulation-Based Obstetric Training in a Low-Resource Setting: Stepped-Wedge Cluster Randomized Trial

Mono-Professional Simulation-Based Obstetric Training in a Low-Resource Setting: Stepped-Wedge Cluster Randomized Trial

The primary outcome of this study was the combined maternal and perinatal mortality rate, expressed as a percentage of maternal and perinatal deaths per total number of births. Perinatal deaths were defined as stillbirths and deaths occurring within the first week of life in the special care unit. Data about each delivery and maternal and perinatal outcomes were prospectively registered using the maternity register and transcribed without identification of the subjects.

User Outcomes for an App-Delivered Hypnosis Intervention for Menopausal Hot Flashes: Retrospective Analysis

User Outcomes for an App-Delivered Hypnosis Intervention for Menopausal Hot Flashes: Retrospective Analysis

As the Evia program is designed to be used daily for 5 weeks, it may be that some participants’ lack of consistency made it challenging to understand the effects of use on outcome. A future study may be able to address this by examining within a more standardized study design whether use is associated with hot flash outcomes. Furthermore, this dataset relied on single-day measures of hot flash frequency for both baseline and end point.

Tracking Implementation Outcomes of an Intensive Case Management Program for HIV: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Tracking Implementation Outcomes of an Intensive Case Management Program for HIV: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Outcome tracking in implementation science enables researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to understand the effectiveness of interventions, identify barriers and facilitators to implementation, and refine strategies to improve the delivery and impact of evidence-based practices [12]. Implementation science outcome tracking is especially crucial for ICM programs.

Effects of a Digital Care Pathway for Multiple Sclerosis: Observational Study

Effects of a Digital Care Pathway for Multiple Sclerosis: Observational Study

A few digital patient portals for pw MS have been created [18,19], but the patient satisfaction and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) of these have not been studied. A digital well-being app has been shown to improve well-being in patients with chronic conditions [20], among them pw MS. More established are data on the impact of web-based education programs and services, as shown in MS community members using the Understanding Multiple Sclerosis course [21].
