Effect of Gamification on Task Engagement During an Eye-Tracking Test Battery in 5-Year-Old Children Born Preterm: Observational Study

Effect of Gamification on Task Engagement During an Eye-Tracking Test Battery in 5-Year-Old Children Born Preterm: Observational Study

Gredebäck et al [12] and Corbetta et al [11] suggested using engaging stimuli in the test to keep the attention of the child focused on the screen. In adult and older adult populations, test batteries that combine different tasks have been used for the early diagnosis of dementia [28,29]. Such methodologies, which combine various kinds of stimuli and measure a variety of cognitive functions, provided a blueprint for our combined test battery.

Understanding Pediatric Patient Experiences with Urotherapy Tools: Qualitative Focus Group Study

For example, child 3 (male, 10 y) created “Captain Underpants,” a popular Dutch children’s book character, with a wetting alarm attached to his underpants (Figure 4 A). Similarly, child 14 (female, 13 y) illustrated the “Time Controller,” using tools like the timer watch to master toilet timing (Figure 4 B). Child 2 (male, 11 y) envisioned a well-trained superhero with a powerful metal sphincter to prevent urine leakage.

Moreover, the networks will disentangle the contributions of specific family members to child outcomes. A secondary objective of the research is to understand which family, parent, and child factors may influence family-emotion networks (eg, parental psychology and child emotion regulation abilities). Internet-Delivered Psychological Treatment for Parents With Health Anxiety by Proxy: Replicated Randomized Single-Case Experimental Design

Internet-Delivered Psychological Treatment for Parents With Health Anxiety by Proxy: Replicated Randomized Single-Case Experimental Design

Characteristic features are ruminations about and persistent fear that one’s child has a serious illness that doctors are missing [12]. For some parents, this fear may lead to repeated medical consultations and checking the child’s body for symptoms, as well as heightened attention to their child’s behavior, signs of illness, and bodily symptoms [13,14].
