Regarding vegetable variety, the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend weekly intakes for vegetable subgroups [4]. The 2013 Australian Dietary Guidelines also encourage including a variety of vegetables [6]. Previous studies identified positive associations between high vegetable variety and plasma carotenoid concentrations [7] as well as overall diet quality [8].
