A Coach-Supported mHealth Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Dementia Risk in Persons With Low Socioeconomic Status or a Migration Background: Qualitative Co-Design Study

A Coach-Supported mHealth Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Dementia Risk in Persons With Low Socioeconomic Status or a Migration Background: Qualitative Co-Design Study

The need for cultural tailoring varied between the ethnic groups. South Asian Surinamese participants displayed strong adherence to their traditional dietary patterns (Q18 and Q19 in Multimedia Appendix 5), whereas the Turkish participants emphasized the significant diversity within Turkish dietary practices, even within Turkey itself (Q17 in Multimedia Appendix 5). This diversity facilitated their adaptation to new dietary habits, as they were already accustomed to cultural variation.

A Tailored mHealth Intervention for Improving Antenatal Care Seeking and Its Determinants Among Pregnant Adolescent Girls and Young Women in South Africa: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

A Tailored mHealth Intervention for Improving Antenatal Care Seeking and Its Determinants Among Pregnant Adolescent Girls and Young Women in South Africa: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

The development of messages was grounded in self-determination theory [19] and was based on techniques for tailoring health promotion messages used in previous studies [20-22]. There were layered, two-way tailored message sets on appointment keeping that were repeated every 4 weeks. Therefore, if a participant joined the intervention at 14 weeks pregnant, for example, they would receive six sets of appointment-keeping messages over 22 weeks.

Strategies for Tailoring Patient-Centered Technologies Across the Cancer Continuum: Protocol for a Scoping Review

Strategies for Tailoring Patient-Centered Technologies Across the Cancer Continuum: Protocol for a Scoping Review

An important and understudied element of intervention design is tailoring technologies based on elements such as the race, ethnicity, and language with which people identify. Tailoring is defined as any combination of techniques and information designed to target a single person based on traits that are unique to that person and connected to the desired outcome that is generated through an individual evaluation [7].

Tailoring for Health Literacy in the Design and Development of eHealth Interventions: Systematic Review

Tailoring for Health Literacy in the Design and Development of eHealth Interventions: Systematic Review

Tailoring refers to the optimization of communication and functionality based on assessable characteristics unique to that individual. Choosing tailoring tactics, guided by theoretical and empirical evidence, can lead to better understanding and uptake of information and subsequently increased efficacy of the intervention [9]. Regarding health literacy, especially the strategy of content matching, seems important.

Adapting a Mobile Health App for Smoking Cessation in Black Adults With Anxiety Through an Analysis of the Mobile Anxiety Sensitivity Program Proof-of-Concept Trial: Qualitative Study

Adapting a Mobile Health App for Smoking Cessation in Black Adults With Anxiety Through an Analysis of the Mobile Anxiety Sensitivity Program Proof-of-Concept Trial: Qualitative Study

Tailoring involves selecting intervention content that corresponds to participant characteristics such as beliefs, identity, or readiness to change that can influence the success of a behavior change intervention and provide relevant content in the moments it is needed most [25,34-36].

Feature Selection for Physical Activity Prediction Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Personalize Intervention Timing: Longitudinal Observational Study

Feature Selection for Physical Activity Prediction Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Personalize Intervention Timing: Longitudinal Observational Study

Therefore, tailoring PA-fostering JITAIs based on PSCF comes with a considerable risk of misaligning intervention timing and content with users’ current states. Misaligned interventions may annoy users or could hinder engagement leading to drop out from JITAI use [9,14]. In literature, self-report measures of momentary affect and motivation have been shown to be closely related to actual PA [15,16].

mHealth Apps for Dementia Caregivers: Systematic Examination of Mobile Apps

mHealth Apps for Dementia Caregivers: Systematic Examination of Mobile Apps

Thus, it is critical to systematically examine m Health apps for their information provision and tailoring, as a first step in assessing their effectiveness for the support of caregivers. In the use of m Health apps to tailor support [40,41], three strategies for tailoring are common: (1) Personalization—strategies that convey “explicitly or implicitly, that the communication is designed specifically” for an individual [42].

Clarifying the Concepts of Personalization and Tailoring of eHealth Technologies: Multimethod Qualitative Study

Clarifying the Concepts of Personalization and Tailoring of eHealth Technologies: Multimethod Qualitative Study

This is referred to as tailoring and personalization in the context of e Health technologies. Personalization and tailoring seem to be logical ways to overcome suboptimal effectiveness, but there is no clear agreement on how to define personalization and tailoring and what the differences and similarities are. In addition, it remains unclear how personalization and tailoring are being applied and can be applied to e Health technologies.
