Given this, Qigong was used as our primary intervention to improve sleep quality for Chinese menopausal women. Specifically, Ba Duan Jing, a popular and straightforward form of Qigong, was used in our study, which is characterized by 8 slow movements coupled with breathing exercises.
In addition to Qigong, a conventional Western sleep regimen was also used to enhance our therapy for insomnia [10-13].

The clinical manual published by the International Association of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome recommends traditional Chinese medicine treatments, including acupuncture, massage, and Qigong. Qigong, as an intervention with proven safety and efficacy, has been recommended for the control of gastrointestinal diseases according to the clinical practice guidelines developed by the expert working group of the Sociedad Espanola de Patologia Digestive [26,27].
