Effectiveness of Text Messages and Text Messages Plus Peer Support on Psychiatric Readmission and Length of Stay: Outcomes From a Quantitative Stepped-Wedge Cluster Randomized Trial

Effectiveness of Text Messages and Text Messages Plus Peer Support on Psychiatric Readmission and Length of Stay: Outcomes From a Quantitative Stepped-Wedge Cluster Randomized Trial

Recent innovations, such as text messaging support and peer support programs, have emerged as promising adjuncts to conventional care, aiming to prevent psychiatric readmissions and shorten hospital stays [17,18]. These interventions offer scalable, cost-effective, and accessible solutions to enhance recovery and reduce the burden on acute psychiatric services.

Digital Interventions and Mental Health Outcomes in Patients With Cancer: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Digital Interventions and Mental Health Outcomes in Patients With Cancer: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

The global rise in cancer incidence has brought attention to the substantial burden of psychiatric and psychosocial consequences associated with the disease. Research on cancer populations in both Northern [1] and Southern Europe [2,3] affirms that 35%‐40% of patients with cancer exhibit diagnosable psychiatric disorders, as determined by the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th Revision psychiatric interview [4].

Magnitude of the Digital Placebo Effect and Its Moderators on Generalized Anxiety Symptoms: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Magnitude of the Digital Placebo Effect and Its Moderators on Generalized Anxiety Symptoms: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

The therapeutic areas of DTx are diverse, but psychiatric disorders are one of the major targets because of the benefit from cognitive behavioral interventions [9]. In the International Classification of Diseases 11, the clinical trials of DTx for mental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders have been mostly conducted recently [5].

Pursuit of Digital Innovation in Psychiatric Data Handling Practices in Ireland: Comprehensive Case Study

Pursuit of Digital Innovation in Psychiatric Data Handling Practices in Ireland: Comprehensive Case Study

Since our research picked Ireland’s MHS as a case study, we finalized our research objectives as follows: System insights: To gain insight into psychiatric procedures and evaluate how sensitive data are handled within the Irish mental health system. Stakeholders engagement: Interact and collaborate with different stakeholders, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health organizations. Document their concerns and establish a feedback loop.

Acoustic and Natural Language Markers for Bipolar Disorder: A Pilot, mHealth Cross-Sectional Study

Acoustic and Natural Language Markers for Bipolar Disorder: A Pilot, mHealth Cross-Sectional Study

The Trust includes 2 psychiatric intensive care units, with a total of 27 beds, and also provides community mental health care for the same 280,000 inhabitants of the northern area of the Metropolitan City of Milan through 4 community mental health teams with multidisciplinary staff. The relevant catchment area comprises highly urbanized, both deprived and affluent, districts. Inclusion criteria comprised a diagnosis of BD and the willingness to participate in the study.

Gamified Adaptive Approach Bias Modification in Individuals With Methamphetamine Use History From Communities in Sichuan: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Gamified Adaptive Approach Bias Modification in Individuals With Methamphetamine Use History From Communities in Sichuan: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Typically, individuals with psychiatric disorders exhibit a distinctive cognitive bias toward certain types of stimuli. Researchers have developed cognitive bias modification (CBM) training schemes aimed at redirecting the bias from negative to positive stimuli. The mechanisms underlying CBM’s efficacy are grounded in theories of automaticity and habit formation, where repeated exposure to corrective training diminishes the influence of negative stimuli over time.

mHealth-Augmented Care for Reducing Depression Symptom Severity Among Patients With Chronic Pain: Exploratory, Retrospective Cohort Study

mHealth-Augmented Care for Reducing Depression Symptom Severity Among Patients With Chronic Pain: Exploratory, Retrospective Cohort Study

America’s psychiatric crisis impairs our health, happiness, and productivity on an industrial scale. Half of all Americans will experience a behavioral health condition at some point in life, and 1 in 5 will experience a condition so severe that it is debilitating [1,2]. Despite the ubiquitous nature of these conditions and their sprawling impacts, psychiatric care is underused, and many individuals resist treatment up to the point of emergency crises [3,4].

Biomarkers of Response to Internet-Based Psychological Interventions: Systematic Review

Biomarkers of Response to Internet-Based Psychological Interventions: Systematic Review

They targeted psychiatric, psychological, or physical conditions or nonclinical individuals (we considered “nonclinical” as those participants who were not recruited based on a specific psychiatric or organic illness and those interventions that did not specifically target a certain disease—in opposition to “psychiatric or psychological” and “physical” samples, whose participants had a mental or medical diagnosis). They were written in English, French, or Italian.

Exploring the Intersection of Schizophrenia, Machine Learning, and Genomics: Scoping Review

Exploring the Intersection of Schizophrenia, Machine Learning, and Genomics: Scoping Review

Using data from the i PSYCH2012 case cohort, another study integrated genetics and registry data with a deep learning approach to stratify 19,636 patients with schizophrenia with or without major depressive disorder into clinically distinct subgroups characterized by unique disorder severities and comorbidity signatures, with predictive models achieving AUCs of 0.55 to 0.97, and therefore emphasized the importance of data-driven stratification for improving psychiatric diagnosis and prognosis [40].
