Digital Interventions to Modify Skin Cancer Risk Behaviors in a National Sample of Young Adults: Randomized Controlled Trial

Digital Interventions to Modify Skin Cancer Risk Behaviors in a National Sample of Young Adults: Randomized Controlled Trial

Adolescents in the United States have the lowest sun protection rates of all age groups [30] and engage in increased UVR exposure as they move into adulthood [31]. This time period represents a critical period in forming sun protection habits because only 25% of lifetime UVR is accumulated by age 18 years [32]. Skin cancer risk behaviors, including lack of sun protection, sunburns, and indoor tanning, peak around age 25 years [33,34].

Factors Impacting Chinese Older Adults’ Intention to Prevent COVID-19 in the Post–COVID-19 Pandemic Era: Survey Study

Factors Impacting Chinese Older Adults’ Intention to Prevent COVID-19 in the Post–COVID-19 Pandemic Era: Survey Study

Respondents were asked to indicate the extent to which they were willing to adopt behaviors related to COVID-19 protection (reducing going out and gathering, wearing a mask, washing hands frequently, and disinfecting promptly). A 5-point Likert scale was used to measure their responses, with options ranging from 1 to 5 (1=hardly, 2=relatively not, 3=neutral, 4=more, and 5=very). Media types were classified as newspaper and radio, television, and cell phone.

The Best Predictor of the Future—the Metaverse, Mental Health, and Lessons Learned From Current Technologies

The Best Predictor of the Future—the Metaverse, Mental Health, and Lessons Learned From Current Technologies

If we consider the past to be a good predictor of the future, then, in our opinion, early involvement of government regulation (in jurisdictions where there is adequate protection for freedom of speech) will be necessary to avoid a repeat of the status quo. Then there is the question of what kind of regulation these platforms should be subject to.

A Gender Lens on User Quality Ratings From Young Teenagers Assessing the Sun Safe App: Comparing Responses From Co-researchers and Participants of Pilot Intervention Studies

A Gender Lens on User Quality Ratings From Young Teenagers Assessing the Sun Safe App: Comparing Responses From Co-researchers and Participants of Pilot Intervention Studies

The production involved co-design with young co-researchers (ie, aged 12-13 years) with a health message of using sun protection when the UV index is ≥3 [1]. Important features include real-time and location-specific weather data on the UV index and gamified educational content [1,2]. We were concerned that indifferent attitudes expressed by male co-researchers during the development of Sun Safe [3] would translate into gendered differences in user quality ratings.

From the Cochrane Library: Interventions for Preventing Occupational Irritant Hand Dermatitis

From the Cochrane Library: Interventions for Preventing Occupational Irritant Hand Dermatitis

This does not imply that these interventions are not effective; on the contrary, barrier creams, moisturizers, and gloves continue to be broadly recommended as crucial measures for occupational skin protection, particularly in the current era of increased hand hygiene requirements during the SARS-Co V-2 (COVID-19) pandemic [4]. An important consideration is that suboptimal real-world use of prevention strategies may fail to demonstrate the efficacy observed in experimental settings [5].

Social Determinants in Self-Protective Behavior Related to COVID-19: Association Rule–Mining Study

Social Determinants in Self-Protective Behavior Related to COVID-19: Association Rule–Mining Study

The most common self-care and protection recommendations during the COVID-19 pandemic were the universal use of facial masks, frequent handwashing or use of alcohol, and distancing when staying out (at least 1 m from someone who doesn't live with you) [18]. The cumulative protective effect might buffer transmission rates and help to control the pandemic.
