Adolescents’ and Young Adults’ Perceptions of a Pop-Up Aimed at Combating the Spread of E-Cigarette Misinformation on Social Media: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Adolescents’ and Young Adults’ Perceptions of a Pop-Up Aimed at Combating the Spread of E-Cigarette Misinformation on Social Media: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Participants were shown two images of a fictitious pop-up tagged as “trusted resources” with a link to “vaping–related information” from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (Figure 1). They were then asked what they would think about seeing this pop-up appear when: (1) searching for vaping on social media (“Imagine you were searching for vaping on social media and a link came up like in the image shown below.

Genotype Distribution and Migration Patterns of Hepatitis C Virus in Shandong Province, China: Molecular Epidemiology and Phylogenetic Study

Genotype Distribution and Migration Patterns of Hepatitis C Virus in Shandong Province, China: Molecular Epidemiology and Phylogenetic Study

Understanding the trends in prevalence, distribution of primary genotypes, and patterns of HCV transmission in Shandong Province can provide a scientific foundation for disease prevention and control in the region. Furthermore, it can serve as a valuable reference for comprehending the HCV epidemic in other areas of China and globally [19].

Factors Influencing Engagement in a Digital Substance Use Prevention Program: Qualitative Study Using the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation Model and Theoretical Domains Framework

Factors Influencing Engagement in a Digital Substance Use Prevention Program: Qualitative Study Using the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation Model and Theoretical Domains Framework

Therefore, early and midadolescence appear to be a critical period for introducing substance use prevention interventions. School settings are particularly suitable, as they facilitate delivery and access, especially within compulsory education systems. Life skills–based intervention programs to prevent substance use delivered in the school have been effective at preventing the onset of specific substances [9-11] and at decreasing problematic substance use [12].

Feasibility of a Mental Health App Intervention for Emergency Service Workers and Volunteers: Single-Arm Pilot Study

Feasibility of a Mental Health App Intervention for Emergency Service Workers and Volunteers: Single-Arm Pilot Study

Smartphone apps are considered a suitable prevention approach, since they have the potential to deliver effective psychological interventions via frequent brief exchanges, offering a unique opportunity for disorder prevention and symptom management [15,16].

Use of a Shoulder-Mounted Wearable Sensor Prototype Designed to Detect Opioid-Related Overdose: A Qualitative User Experience Study

Use of a Shoulder-Mounted Wearable Sensor Prototype Designed to Detect Opioid-Related Overdose: A Qualitative User Experience Study

Because of their personal experiences and perceived susceptibility to overdose, most participants were open to the concept of a wearable device as a new prevention strategy. I used Percocet and stuff for years and never overdosed. Then, five times in the first two months with the fentanyl because you just can’t judge, and the strength’s so different…It varies from bag to bag, even parts of bags. I’ve known two people, one OD’d off a bag and one didn’t, so. People don’t know what [drugs] they’re doing...

The Quality and Reliability of Online Videos as an Information Source of Public Health Education for Stroke Prevention in Mainland China: Electronic Media–Based Cross-Sectional Study

In the pursuit of better combating this growing threat, the primary prevention of first stroke and secondary prevention of recurrent stroke have emerged as critical strategies and are now recognized as essential components of global stroke control [3,4].

Exploring the Impact of Online Mental Health Resources During the COVID-19 Pandemic on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning Adults Compared to Heterosexual Adults: Pretest-Posttest Survey Analyses

Exploring the Impact of Online Mental Health Resources During the COVID-19 Pandemic on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning Adults Compared to Heterosexual Adults: Pretest-Posttest Survey Analyses

In Australia, efforts to integrate digital youth portals focused on mental illness prevention launched via existing brick-and-mortar youth mental health centers in an effort to expand access across rural areas and decrease barriers to care [20]. A systematic review of LGBTQ+-specific digital resources for youth during the pandemic found that both structured and unstructured formal resources—such as telehealth and mobile apps—reduced mental illness symptoms despite needed improvement of mobile apps [22].

Design of a Mobile App and a Clinical Trial Management System for Cognitive Health and Dementia Risk Reduction: User-Centered Design Approach

Design of a Mobile App and a Clinical Trial Management System for Cognitive Health and Dementia Risk Reduction: User-Centered Design Approach

Digital health platforms, easily accessible via mobile technology, can be efficient and cost-effective tools for dementia prevention. They not only offer individualized cognitive training but can also provide an engaging user experience [13,14]. The currently ongoing prevention of dementia using mobile phone applications (PRODEMOS) study creates an evidence-based dementia prevention strategy using mobile health (m Health) accessible to at-risk individuals [15].

Effect of Whole-Body Electromyostimulation Training on Glycemic Control in People With Prediabetes: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial Study

Effect of Whole-Body Electromyostimulation Training on Glycemic Control in People With Prediabetes: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial Study

As the prevalence of T2 DM increases, effective prevention measures are increasingly important. Focusing on those who are at high risk of developing T2 DM is a pivotal starting point. A state of glucose metabolism is called prediabetes when diabetes mellitus is not yet present but elevated fasting plasma glucose levels or impaired glucose tolerance are known [2]. Hemoglobin A1c (Hb A1c) levels between 5.7% and 6.4% are indicative of prediabetes.

Virtual Diabetes Prevention Program Tailored to Increase Participation of Black and Latino Men: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Virtual Diabetes Prevention Program Tailored to Increase Participation of Black and Latino Men: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Despite these striking disparities, men of color are rarely the focus of research, policy, or practice focused on the prevention of diabetes or other chronic diseases [8-10]. The Diabetes Prevention Program randomized trial (DPP; 32% male participants) clearly established the efficacy of lifestyle change for weight loss and type 2 diabetes prevention [11,12]. There have been many efforts to translate the DPP into “real world” settings, but they mostly reach women [13].
