Equivalence of Type 2 Diabetes Prevalence Estimates: Comparative Study of Similar Phenotyping Algorithms Using Electronic Health Record Data

Equivalence of Type 2 Diabetes Prevalence Estimates: Comparative Study of Similar Phenotyping Algorithms Using Electronic Health Record Data

The methods through which these data are combined in a CP could affect the accuracy of measures such as incidence and prevalence. The purpose of this study was to compare 2 CP methods for estimating the prevalence of diabetes using EHR data. These methods have been proposed for use by researchers as well as local and state public health agencies.

Temporal Trends in Cervical Human Papillomavirus Prevalence Among Females in Xiamen, China (2016-2023): Cross-Sectional Study

In addition, the trend of HPV prevalence also varied among different areas within a province [17,18]. Within the same area, the prevalence and distribution of HPV genotypes also varied in different periods [20]. The prevalence of HPV was also affected by age and the spread of other viruses, with higher prevalence in younger women ( The COVID-19 epidemic broke out at the end of 2019.

Coronary Artery Disease Prevalence in an Executive Population at a Tertiary Medical Center: Protocol for a Retrospective Cohort Study

Coronary Artery Disease Prevalence in an Executive Population at a Tertiary Medical Center: Protocol for a Retrospective Cohort Study

This combination of factors underscores the need to investigate CAD prevalence among executives to develop targeted interventions tailored to their unique needs. However, there are currently no published data on these factors or the prevalence of CAD among executives, representing a critical gap in the literature. We aim to conduct a retrospective cohort study to determine the prevalence of CAD among individuals enrolled in an executive health program at a large medical center.

Estimating Chronic Hepatitis B Prevalence and Undiagnosed Proportion in Canada, 2007-2021: Mathematical Framework Development

Estimating Chronic Hepatitis B Prevalence and Undiagnosed Proportion in Canada, 2007-2021: Mathematical Framework Development

Meeting Canada’s elimination goals will require further evidence-based interventions, such as screening and community outreach, rooted in robust estimates of CHB prevalence to track the impact and the efficacy of these investments in public health. In this paper, we present a model-based framework for estimating the prevalence and undiagnosed proportion of CHB.

Hypertension Prevalence Among People Lifted Out of Poverty in China in 2018-2023: Retrospective Spatiotemporal Analysis

Hypertension Prevalence Among People Lifted Out of Poverty in China in 2018-2023: Retrospective Spatiotemporal Analysis

From 2021 onward, the prevalence rate began to rise again gradually, reaching a 6-year peak of approximately 7.29% in 2023. We analyzed the annual trend of hypertension prevalence among people lifted out of poverty across the 22 provinces containing poverty-alleviated counties. As shown in Figure 2, hypertension prevalence varied across provinces from 2018 to 2023. Four provinces—Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Hebei—exhibited the highest prevalence rates.

Prevalence of Chronic Back Pain and Associated Factors in Children and Adolescents: Secondary Analysis of the 2001–2019 Health Behavior in School-Aged Children Study

Prevalence of Chronic Back Pain and Associated Factors in Children and Adolescents: Secondary Analysis of the 2001–2019 Health Behavior in School-Aged Children Study

Moreover, since backache is a leading cause of disability, identifying its prevalence in younger populations can help allocate resources, raise awareness, and prioritize public health initiatives aimed at reducing its impact not just in younger populations but across the lifespan. Nevertheless, updated analyses of the prevalence and temporal trends in this population group are scarce.

Authors’ Response to Peer Reviews of “Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Cancer Survivorship: Retrospective Cohort Study”

Authors’ Response to Peer Reviews of “Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Cancer Survivorship: Retrospective Cohort Study”

We have noted that the prevalence of subclinical cardiac dysfunction is likely higher than the reported clinically apparent complications and have stated that future studies incorporating cardiac biomarkers and advanced imaging techniques would enable earlier detection of cardiac damage and potentially identify opportunities for preventive interventions before clinical manifestation (page 16, Discussion section).

Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Cancer Survivorship: Retrospective Cohort Study

Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Cancer Survivorship: Retrospective Cohort Study

Determine the prevalence and incidence of various cardiovascular complications (including cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and arrhythmias) among childhood cancer survivors. Analyze the temporal patterns of cardiotoxicity onset in relation to cancer diagnosis and treatment completion.
