An App for Navigating Patient Transportation and Acute Stroke Care in Northwestern Ontario Using Machine Learning: Retrospective Study

Patients accessing care for stroke in Northwestern Ontario (NWO), Canada, have particular challenges. NWO is a vast geographic area, covering approximately 458,010 km2 in the northwest region of the province (Figure 1) [6]. The health status of NWO residents differs from that of the remaining population in Ontario and Canada. Health indicators typically show worse outcomes for NWO residents when compared with provincial and national indicators.
