Formative Evaluation of Suicide Prevention Websites for Men: Qualitative Study with Men at Risk of Suicide and with Potential Gatekeepers

During the screening process, a brief sociodemographic check was conducted due to the all-male target group for the interviews and the gender-mixed sample for the focus groups. Access to Health Care and Use of Health Care Services Among Males in Africa: Protocol for a Scoping Review

Access to Health Care and Use of Health Care Services Among Males in Africa: Protocol for a Scoping Review

In South Africa, the male health risk and mortality rates are high due to tuberculosis, as well as noncommunicable diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, all of which are mostly preventable [6]. There are various reasons for men delaying or avoiding seeking health interventions, with some of the most regularly identified ones being a paucity of male-centered interventions, sociodemographic factors, and attitudes toward health services [7-9].

The Association Between Solid Fuel Use and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Suggestive of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in Sichuan, China: Cross-Sectional Study

It has been reported that over half of the Chinese male population aged 70 years or older are experiencing BPH [3]. The pathogenesis of BPH remains incompletely understood despite its high prevalence, as multiple factors are involved in the process [4]. Except for aging, several studies have attempted to identify other risk factors for BPH, including androgen and estrogen levels, cigarette and alcohol consumption, sexual activity, and socioeconomic factors [5,6].

Efficacy of Remote Health Monitoring in Reducing Hospital Readmissions Among High-Risk Postdischarge Patients: Prospective Cohort Study

Efficacy of Remote Health Monitoring in Reducing Hospital Readmissions Among High-Risk Postdischarge Patients: Prospective Cohort Study

Among these, 93% (n=38) were male. In terms of age distribution, 46% (n=19) were aged 41-60 years, while an equal percentage of 46% (n=19) were aged 60 years or older. The findings of this study revealed that the implementation of home digital monitoring as an intervention led to a significant reduction in various health care metrics within 3 and 6 months after intervention.

Predicting the Population Risk of Suicide Using Routinely Collected Health Administrative Data in Quebec, Canada: Model-Based Synthetic Estimation Study

The male and female models had common predictors (eg, age; living in rural area; hospitalization for suicide attempt; outpatient psychiatrist visits for mental health reasons; and presence of mood, anxiety, substance use, and personality disorders); some predictors are sex specific (in males: Charlson score, emergency and general physician [GP] visits for physical health reasons, and regional mental health budget; in females: material deprivation score and emergency and GP visits for mental health reasons).

Treating Spontaneous Pneumothorax Using an Innovative Surgical Technique Called Capnodissection Pleurectomy: Case Report

Our patient was a young male individual who was previously healthy. He presented with a recurrence of an SP for the first time (2 SPs in total). The previous episode was treated conservatively 7 months prior, and his computed tomography scan for this episode showed that he had small apical bullae. The decision was made to list the patient for elective surgical treatment, and after discussion with the patient, he was listed for a pleurectomy and bullectomy.

Does Male Skin Care Content on Instagram Neglect Skin Cancer Prevention?

Social media outreach regarding male skin care and sun protection may be an unrealized opportunity as an effective approach for skin cancer prevention, especially considering that men comprised most new skin cancer cases worldwide in 2020 (men: n=896,192, 59%; women: n=626,516, 41%; calculated based on data from Sung et al [2]), including cases of melanoma (men: n=173,844, 54%; women: n=150,791, 46%) and nonmelanoma (men: n=722,348, 60%; women: n=475,725, 40%) of the skin.
