A Suicide Prevention Digital Technology for Individuals Experiencing an Acute Suicide Crisis in Emergency Departments: Naturalistic Observational Study of Real-World Acceptability, Feasibility, and Safety

A Suicide Prevention Digital Technology for Individuals Experiencing an Acute Suicide Crisis in Emergency Departments: Naturalistic Observational Study of Real-World Acceptability, Feasibility, and Safety

To evaluate Aim 1, exploratory data were collected on how medical staff deployed Jaspr, including (1a) frequency of module assignment and (1b) completion rates for individual Jaspr modules, as well as (1c) presence of adverse events (AEs) related to study participation, including use of Jaspr. For Aim 2, hypotheses were consistent with the prior RCT, specifically, (2a) that Jaspr use would produce significant reductions in self-reported agitation and distress and (2b) high care satisfaction ratings.

Key Considerations for Designing Clinical Studies to Evaluate Digital Health Solutions

Key Considerations for Designing Clinical Studies to Evaluate Digital Health Solutions

Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using placebo control groups; individual randomization; and strict, arguably artificial clinical settings are the gold standard for evaluating drug efficacy and safety [3]. But contrary to pharmacological treatments, in which efficacy is driven by the modulation of biology at the molecular level, DHSs belong to a specific interventional class known as “complex interventions” [4].

Assessing the Mental Health of Emerging Adults Through a Mental Health App: Protocol for a Prospective Pilot Study

Assessing the Mental Health of Emerging Adults Through a Mental Health App: Protocol for a Prospective Pilot Study

The goal of this paper is to introduce a research protocol for a prospective study that examines the feasibility of a multimodal approach to understanding the unique individual nuances of mental health. Psychologists and human behavior researchers have long understood the importance of adaptive stress responses and emotional functioning in well-being.
