According to the 10-factor taxonomy, immersion gaming motivation comprises 4 subcomponents: discovery, role-play, customization, and escapism. Discovery motivation refers to players’ interest in exploring the virtual in-game world, whereas role-play motivation reflects players’ incentive to create and identify with their in-game avatars.
