Body Fat and Obesity Rates, Cardiovascular Fitness, and the Feasibility of a Low-Intensity Non–Weight-Centric Educational Intervention Among Late Adolescents: Quasi-Experimental Study

Body Fat and Obesity Rates, Cardiovascular Fitness, and the Feasibility of a Low-Intensity Non–Weight-Centric Educational Intervention Among Late Adolescents: Quasi-Experimental Study

These programs encourage healthy behaviors and promote a positive body image without stigmatizing students, addressing the negative outcomes associated with weight stigma such as anxiety, disordered eating, and even weight gain [18,19]. However, designing obesity prevention programs that avoid weight-based stigma remains challenging, prompting calls for expanded research in non-Western cultural settings [16,20].

Assessing and Enhancing Nutrition and Physical Activity Environments in Early Childhood Education and Care Centers: Scoping Review of eHealth Tools

Assessing and Enhancing Nutrition and Physical Activity Environments in Early Childhood Education and Care Centers: Scoping Review of eHealth Tools

Research indicates that health behaviors, such as eating habits and physical activity levels, are modifiable risk factors for obesity and chronic diseases [9]. These behaviors often co-occur or cluster together [10,11]. An integrated approach to health promotion, addressing both dietary intake and physical activity simultaneously [10], is therefore essential during early childhood to improve population health across the lifespan.

Effects of a Digital Therapeutic Adjunct to Eating Disorder Treatment on Health Care Service Utilization and Clinical Outcomes: Retrospective Observational Study Using Electronic Health Records

The need for scalable solutions facilitating access to eating disorder (ED) treatment services that are efficient, effective, and inclusive is a major public health priority. EDs continue to be a large burden on populations across the globe, with recent reviews suggesting a lifetime prevalence of any ED of 1.69% [1].

Central Hemodynamic and Thermoregulatory Responses to Food Intake as Potential Biomarkers for Eating Detection: Systematic Review

Central Hemodynamic and Thermoregulatory Responses to Food Intake as Potential Biomarkers for Eating Detection: Systematic Review

By leveraging wearable technologies, eating detection enables real-time monitoring of meal timing, duration, and eating patterns, thus providing valuable insights into eating behaviors and supporting overall health and well-being. Despite extensive research in eating detection [6-10], successful deployment of eating detection platforms remains elusive.

Effects of Food Depictions in Entertainment Media on Children’s Unhealthy Food Preferences: Content Analysis Linked With Panel Data

Effects of Food Depictions in Entertainment Media on Children’s Unhealthy Food Preferences: Content Analysis Linked With Panel Data

Experimental data measuring food choices and eating behaviors shortly after exposure to persuasive content suggest that media depictions do significantly shape unhealthy eating behaviors among children [3,4]. However, as valuable as experimental studies are, they do not allow conclusions about long-term effects, and they typically test specific food depictions, not the food-related media diet as a whole.

Effectiveness of an Artificial Intelligence-Assisted App for Improving Eating Behaviors: Mixed Methods Evaluation

However, there is a need for apps that include monitoring and support for one’s self-regulation over momentary eating impulses, which are often triggered and influenced by dietary lapse triggers such as visual food cues, eating out, negative affect, and sleep deprivation [17-20].

Long-Term Effectiveness of a Multi-Strategy Choice Architecture Intervention in Increasing Healthy Food Choices of High-School Students From Online Canteens (Click & Crunch High Schools): Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial

Adolescence represents a transitional life stage, which often coincides with increased autonomy regarding food choices and eating behaviors. Healthy eating interventions that can reach the adolescent population during this key stage are required [6], as dietary behaviors during adolescence have been shown to track throughout the life span [7].
