Population-Level Dissemination of a Smoking Cessation Smartphone App: Quasi-Experimental Comparison of Values-Based Messages in Social Media Advertisements

Population-Level Dissemination of a Smoking Cessation Smartphone App: Quasi-Experimental Comparison of Values-Based Messages in Social Media Advertisements

Given that cigarette smoking is a significant public health challenge in India [31], and to address the need for freely available smoking cessation resources, we tested the dissemination potential of the i Can Quit app to individuals in India. We first conducted user-centered qualitative research to inform the tailoring of i Can Quit to users in India. We then conducted user-centered qualitative research to inform the selection of values-based messages in social media advertisement campaigns.

Implementation Outcomes of Reusable Learning Objects in Health Care Education Across Three Malaysian Universities: Evaluation Using the RE-AIM Framework

Various strategies were implemented to improve the usage of RLOs, including identifying early adopters (department and educators) to use RLOs in teaching, integrating RLOs into the existing curricula, sending reminders to educators, receiving feedback from students, establishing an effective dissemination team, monitoring RLO performance and feedback to educators, and periodic re-examining of the implementation strategies.

Using Social Media to Disseminate Behavior Change Interventions: Scoping Review of Systematic Reviews

Using Social Media to Disseminate Behavior Change Interventions: Scoping Review of Systematic Reviews

Yet, the science of dissemination has been less explored than that of implementation, and little is known about the determinants, processes, and outcomes of dissemination efforts. Dissemination strategies are actions and processes that promote and support the dissemination of information, conveying it from a source to the audience through the intentional development and selection of sources, content, and channels [1-3].

Dissemination and Implementation Approach to Increasing Access to Local Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Resources With Black Cisgender Women: Intervention Study With Vlogs Shared on Social Media

Dissemination and Implementation Approach to Increasing Access to Local Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Resources With Black Cisgender Women: Intervention Study With Vlogs Shared on Social Media

In this research, we are interested in Black cisgender women’s acceptability of HIV prevention vlogs as a pathway for both information dissemination and linkage to Pr EP resources at local clinics. The research team designed the vlogs with an intentional focus on race, gender, and culture to meet the needs of Black cisgender women. Local clinics already use webpages to provide information about Pr EP to community members. In this case, vlogs could drive traffic to the clinic webpages.

Second, study features of greater methodological or logistical rigor—such as interventional (vs observational), randomization (vs nonrandomized), masking (vs open label), and larger sample sizes (>1000 vs ≤1000) in trials—had higher disclosure rates with shorter median reporting times through either dissemination route. However, multicenter status had no discernible impact. Less rigorous features, such as single-center designs (82.8%; 667/806) and open-label trials (60%; 214/357), were prevalent.

Digital Information Exchange Between the Public and Researchers in Health Studies: Scoping Review

Digital Information Exchange Between the Public and Researchers in Health Studies: Scoping Review

The term “public engagement” is used to describe the various ways in which the public (ie, the general population) can be involved in the design, conduct, and dissemination of research. It may be employed to inform and inspire, to advise and listen, or to collaborate with the public. Engagement is by definition a 2-way process involving interaction and listening and intending to generate mutual benefit [1].

Sexual and Gender Minority Adolescents’ Preferences for HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Social Marketing Campaigns: Qualitative Preimplementation Study

In this study, we used a “designing for dissemination and sustainability” approach, which uses methods and principles from dissemination and implementation science, communications, marketing, community engagement, and human-centered design. This interdisciplinary approach enables the tangible products of public health research to better meet the long-term needs of the intended audience and settings [41].
