Given the importance of promoting progressively autonomous trainee clinical experiences across diverse backgrounds, it is important to understand how trainee involvement affects parent comfort and perceptions in pediatric care. However, parental views on trainee involvement remain underexplored, especially regarding how those views may vary across parent demographic backgrounds.

Sexual Health Assessment Is Vital to Whole Health Models of Care

Focusing provider education on addressing the belief gap between providers and patients (ie, sharing evidence that patients are largely comfortable with sexual health assessment) and interventions to increase providers’ comfort with discussing sexual health will likely increase the impact of logistical changes. In addition, focusing on patients’ priorities and sexual well-being could potentially increase patient engagement in care and enhance the whole health of our patients.
