A Digital Program for Daily Life Management With Endometriosis: Pilot Cohort Study on Symptoms and Quality of Life Among Participants

A Digital Program for Daily Life Management With Endometriosis: Pilot Cohort Study on Symptoms and Quality of Life Among Participants

It was found to improve the QOL for patients with chronic pain conditions [20-23], especially by encouraging a problem-solving attitude in the patients receiving the treatment [24]. Internet-based CBT programs have been proven effective for a variety of disorders [25-29].

Future Patient—Telerehabilitation of Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: Protocol for a Multicenter, Mixed Methods, Randomized Controlled Trial

Future Patient—Telerehabilitation of Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: Protocol for a Multicenter, Mixed Methods, Randomized Controlled Trial

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a chronic cardiovascular condition occurring in 3% of the adult population, the prevalence of which is predicted to more than double over the next 20 years [1]. The increase in AF prevalence may be attributed to better opportunistic screening for silent AF, aging of the population, and an increase in conditions predisposing to AF, such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, and physical inactivity [2].

Efficacy and Safety of Murivenna Anal Infiltration Compared to Diltiazem Topical Application in Chronic Anal Fissure: Protocol for a Prospective, Randomized, Open-Label Clinical Trial

Efficacy and Safety of Murivenna Anal Infiltration Compared to Diltiazem Topical Application in Chronic Anal Fissure: Protocol for a Prospective, Randomized, Open-Label Clinical Trial

Hence, this clinical study will compare the effect of murivenna anal infiltration against diltiazem topical application in the treatment of chronic anal fissures. The primary objective of the study is to determine the efficacy of murivenna anal infiltration for healing of anal fissures in comparison with a topical application of 2% diltiazem.

Digital Mindfulness Training for Burnout Reduction in Physicians: Clinician-Driven Approach

Digital Mindfulness Training for Burnout Reduction in Physicians: Clinician-Driven Approach

Defined by the World Health Organization as “a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been managed successfully,” burnout is characterized by 3 dimensions: emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced personal accomplishment [5]. Emotional exhaustion includes feeling overwhelmed by work demands and experiencing depletion of emotional and physical resources. Cynicism represents the interpersonal aspect of burnout and refers to callous and detached attitudes toward one’s job and people.

Evaluating Older Adults’ Engagement and Usability With AI-Driven Interventions: Randomized Pilot Study

Evaluating Older Adults’ Engagement and Usability With AI-Driven Interventions: Randomized Pilot Study

Newer, technology-based interventions may provide a way to assist with the self-management of chronic illnesses and improve social connections for older adults [2]. Traditional technologies such as computers and mobile tablets have been adopted by aging adults but can be abandoned depending on acceptance and ease of use [3]. Newer technologies such as conversational voice assistants are a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that have the capacity to assist and have basic interactions with individuals.

The Effectiveness of Therapeutic Exercise Interventions With Virtual Reality on Balance and Walking Among Persons With Chronic Stroke: Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, and Meta-Regression of Randomized Controlled Trials

The Effectiveness of Therapeutic Exercise Interventions With Virtual Reality on Balance and Walking Among Persons With Chronic Stroke: Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, and Meta-Regression of Randomized Controlled Trials

Rehabilitation research should place greater emphasis on individuals with chronic stroke. Increasing evidence shows that people with chronic stroke have slower walking speeds and reduced walking endurance compared with the healthy older age adult population [7]. Walking activity is lowest among individuals with stroke who experience the greatest balance impairments, highlighting the need to study the often-neglected chronic stroke population separately [8].

Patient Profile and Cost Savings of Long-Term Care in a Spanish Hospital: Retrospective Observational Study

Patient Profile and Cost Savings of Long-Term Care in a Spanish Hospital: Retrospective Observational Study

In all high-income countries, long-term care hospitals have been considered an efficient response to the health care needs of an increasingly aging population that have multiple chronic conditions simultaneously [1]. However, the care model is being reviewed, and new ideas are emerging to leverage the potential of these health care resources [2].

Participation in eHealth Communication Interventions Among Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis: Scoping Review

Participation in eHealth Communication Interventions Among Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis: Scoping Review

Approximately 3.9 million individuals living with stage-V chronic kidney disease (CKD) worldwide receive kidney replacement therapy, kidney transplantation, or various forms of dialysis, and the numbers continue to rise [10,11]. In-center hemodialysis is more common than peritoneal dialysis (PD), with approximately 2.3 million individuals undergoing hemodialysis in 2019 [12].

Nutrition-Related Mobile Apps in the Spanish App Stores: Quality and Content Analysis

Noncommunicable diseases—commonly known as chronic diseases—are responsible for more than 60% of the global disease burden, representing a public health concern [1]. Their high prevalence and mortality rates constitute a threat to individuals, families, health care systems, and governments due to their health and economic impacts [2,3].

Complementary App-Based Yoga Home Exercise Therapy for Patients With Axial Spondyloarthritis: Usability Study

Complementary App-Based Yoga Home Exercise Therapy for Patients With Axial Spondyloarthritis: Usability Study

Axial spondyloarthritis (AS) is an inflammatory rheumatic disease causing spine inflammation and chronic back pain [1,2]. This leads to stiffness and limited mobility due to deformity and ossification [3]. AS usually begins before age 45, impacting quality of life, daily activities, social participation, and employment [4-6]. Treatment combines pharmacological and nonpharmacological approaches [7,8] with physical therapy recommended by AS guidelines [9].
