Triggering Weight Management Using Digital Avatars: Prospective Cohort Study
Calorie estimation: at interview 1, as a proxy measure of food literacy, participants were shown 10 images of common foods obtained from the widely used and validated “Food-pics” database and asked to estimate their calorie value [9]. Participants were shown a visual image of a common snack food and asked to estimate the number of calories in the food by choosing the best answer from multiple options.

Introduced in 2017, the Nutrition Information System for Indonesian Pregnant Women (SISFORNUTRIMIL) is a potential web-based application prototype for recording and calculating food and calorie intake [6]. Women registered for this application can self-monitor dietary nutrition intake by selecting from five food choices, including beverages and snacks, at each mealtime.

We hypothesized that 3 D immersive VR exercises would be more effective than offline physical exercises in increasing the range of motion and calorie consumption during exercise. In addition, we hypothesized that the effectiveness of 3 D immersive VR exercises is associated with brain activation within the OFC before and after exercise.
The sample size was calculated using G*power software (Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf) [34] based on a statistical test using repeated measures ANOVA.
