Assessing the Impact of Distance Traveled and Birth Volumes of Hospital Maternity Units on Newborn Outcomes: Population-Based Cohort Study

Assessing the Impact of Distance Traveled and Birth Volumes of Hospital Maternity Units on Newborn Outcomes: Population-Based Cohort Study

A unique deidentification code is systematically used for all databases; as a result, linking these records enables the creation of a large birth cohort and establishing relevant traits and care pathways for mothers and newborns. The criteria for selecting the study cohort almost completely overlapped with those previously reported by our group [9].

Investigating the Effectiveness of Technology-Based Distal Interventions for Postpartum Depression and Anxiety: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Investigating the Effectiveness of Technology-Based Distal Interventions for Postpartum Depression and Anxiety: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

In clinical settings and research, it is well accepted that symptom onset can occur up to 12 months after birth or adoption [3,4]. Postpartum depression is quite common. For birth parents, it is estimated that approximately 10% of fathers [5] and 13% of mothers [6] experience postpartum depression. For adoptive parents, it impacts approximately 11% of fathers [7] and 8.8% of mothers [6]. Postpartum anxiety is also relatively common, impacting approximately 4.4% to 10.8% of parents [8].

Development and Usability of the OHiFamily Mobile App to Enhance Accessibility to Maternal and Infant Information for Expectant Families in Ohio: Qualitative Study

Development and Usability of the OHiFamily Mobile App to Enhance Accessibility to Maternal and Infant Information for Expectant Families in Ohio: Qualitative Study

Although nationally the infant mortality rate (IMR) has declined in recent years to 5.4 per 1000 live births in 2021, there are still relatively high infant mortality and preterm birth rates in Ohio [2]. There is also a racial disparity in many states, including Ohio, evident in the differing rates for non-Hispanic Black infants versus non-Hispanic White infants. In 2020, Ohio’s overall rate had improved from 6.9 per 1000 live births to 6.7 per 1000 live births in 2019 [3].

Examining the Effectiveness of Interactive Webtoons for Premature Birth Prevention: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Examining the Effectiveness of Interactive Webtoons for Premature Birth Prevention: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Premature birth is defined as a live birth that occurs before 37 weeks of pregnancy. The estimated global premature birth rate per 100 live births was 9.9% (13.4 million premature births) in 2020 [1]. It poses a serious health issue for children, their families, and society worldwide [2], with complications from premature birth being the primary contributors to childhood mortality. This accounts for 35% of all deaths during the neonatal period and 18% of all deaths in children younger than 5 years [3].

Intention to Use Mobile-Based Partograph and Its Predictors Among Obstetric Health Care Providers Working at Public Referral Hospitals in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia in 2022: Cross-Sectional Questionnaire Study

Intention to Use Mobile-Based Partograph and Its Predictors Among Obstetric Health Care Providers Working at Public Referral Hospitals in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia in 2022: Cross-Sectional Questionnaire Study

Further, this study finding is supported by a study conducted in Tanzania in which skilled birth attendants found that electronic partograph was useful, easy to use, and improved the quality of care [24]. This indicates that obstetric health care providers who perceive that mobile-based partograph is easy to use, easy to interact with, and easy to learn are more likely to perceive it as useful, and consequently, this will lead to a high intention to use it [39].

Comparison of Spontaneous Pushing and Directed Pushing During the Second Stage of Labor Among Chinese Women Without Epidural Analgesia: Protocol for a Noninferior Feasibility Study

Comparison of Spontaneous Pushing and Directed Pushing During the Second Stage of Labor Among Chinese Women Without Epidural Analgesia: Protocol for a Noninferior Feasibility Study

This study will be conducted in a single Birth Centre in the Fourth Hospital of Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China. The economic status of the population and the medical resources of Hebei Province is at the average level among all the provinces in China [23], with an annual live birth rate of 762,376 in 2019 [24]. The chosen hospital has one of the largest numbers of annual birth rates in Hebei Province with around 15,600 births in 2022.

Testing for Hepatitis C During Pregnancy Among Persons With Medicaid and Commercial Insurance: Cohort Study

Testing for Hepatitis C During Pregnancy Among Persons With Medicaid and Commercial Insurance: Cohort Study

The rate of maternal HCV infection as recorded on US birth certificates increased by 89% between 2009 and 2014, and rates were highest in Appalachia [11]. Hepatitis C antibody testing among pregnant persons from a large national commercial laboratory increased from 5.7% to 13.4% and test positivity increased from 2.6% to 3.6% from 2011 to 2016, respectively [12].

COVID-19 Vaccination Among US-Born and Non–US-Born Residents of the United States From a Nationally Distributed Survey: Cross-sectional Study

COVID-19 Vaccination Among US-Born and Non–US-Born Residents of the United States From a Nationally Distributed Survey: Cross-sectional Study

While intentions, attitudes, and barriers play a role in vaccination in the United States (US), the contribution of race/ethnicity and US/non–US birth status to vaccine uptake is not well understood in the context of COVID-19. Multiple factors, such as affiliations and folk beliefs that affect conventional vaccination schedules, may affect intentions toward COVID-19 vaccination [2].
