This illustrates that they are open to receiving information and assistance, despite their ambivalence about quitting smoking in the near term. A recent meta-analysis of 22 studies also found that interventions in this population can be as effective as interventions targeted to people who are ready to quit; however, the cost of intervention is substantially higher [13].
