Wang et al [17] recently proposed a holistic framework for developing digital health behavior interventions, drawing from several classic theories of health behavior change in psychology, such as social-cognitive theory [18,19] and the health action process approach (HAPA; Figure 1) [18). The latter theory is especially important for the design of health behavior interventions as it bridges the intention-behavior gap through action planning [20].
