Conversely, data on the benefits of telemedicine in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) like Vietnam, where HF is rapidly becoming a significant health care burden, remain limited [13]. Against this backdrop, we conducted this study to evaluate the effectiveness of a simplified telemedicine model designed to accommodate the limited resources available in LMIC at improving the prognosis of patients with HFr EF in Vietnam.

This study used data collected in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam, during the calendar year 2021 from the surveillance system for patients with COVID-19/SARS-Co V-2 who were admitted to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Hanoi, Vietnam. The database included information on 13,727 patients with COVID-19 collected from the beginning of the 2021 outbreak in Bac Ninh Province, from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, without any missing data.

There are 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, with the Kinh majority representing 85% (98 million) of the national population and 53 ethnic minority groups representing the remaining 15%. In Vietnam, as in other Southeast Asian countries, the term “ethnic minority” is commonly utilized by government bodies for populations who may elsewhere be classified as Indigenous peoples.
