An mHealth App to Support Fertility Patients Navigating the World of Infertility (Infotility): Development and Usability Study

The majority of the participants expressed interest in using online peer support and endorsed a monitored peer support forum that is accessible on a mobile device, allows participants to connect with peers, contains links to external resources, and is monitored by a health professional. These results affirmed our decision to include a peer support forum in the Infotility app and informed the design of the forum.

Searching the Internet for Infertility Information: A Survey of Patient Needs and Preferences

Approximately 70% of North American adults use the internet as a source of health information [1,2], with higher rates among people with health concerns as well as those who rate their health as poor [3,4]. Web-based resources offer a number of advantages over print and face-to-face resources; these include ready availability, instantaneous access to frequently updated sources of information, anonymity, and contact with people with similar difficulties.
