Chen et al [8] studied correlations between the Zika epidemic in 2016 and the CDC’s responses on Twitter. They quantified the association between the 2 types of data through multivariate time series analyses and information theory measurements. The study discovered the CDC’s varying degrees of efforts in disseminating health-related information to the public during different phases of the Zika pandemic in 2016.
