Two trained female investigators (HY and NA-S) conducted the individual interviews with the midwives using an interview guide designed by the research team. This guide covered the major concepts to be discussed during the interviews. Other more specific questions and probes were also asked, as appropriate, but were not initially included in the interview guide but emerged during the active discussion.
