To evaluate the overall performance, we also reported the summary statistics of F-score and Youden J statistic (J), which are composite measurements of sensitivity and PPV (F-score) or sensitivity and specificity (J). All analyses were conducted using SAS statistical software version 9.4 (SAS Institute Inc).
An overview of the patient characteristics for our sample, study population, and California state birth population is shown in Table 1.

Furthermore, the overall test performance of a dichotomous diagnostic test was assessed using the Youden J statistic [24] (Youden index=sensitivity+specificity–1), and the weighted harmonic mean of the test's precision and recall were assessed by computing the F-score (2×[PPV×sensitivity]/[PPV+sensitivity]). Agreement in case identification between the Scholes et al and the enhanced algorithms was assessed using kappa (κ) statistics.
